Dead wrong. The welter division was the weakest it had ever been in 20 years. Judah had just been beat by Baldo and KTFO by Zoo at 140. Mayo, Forrest, Mosley, and Hoya were all at 154.

1 guy was making noise at the time. Like him or not it was Margarito.

I stand by my original post.
The latest debacle, with Mayweather possibly 10lb or more heavier than his opponent, does nothing to enhance either FM's rep,nor the sport of boxing any favours.
Sure, he's a talented fighter, but an all time great? No way.
Step out of your comfort zone Floyd, and fight a REAL adversary, someone who's strong and hungry and skilful enough to make you really work.......
I'm talking a Cotto or a Williams, or even a shopworn Mosley for that matter.
    C * O * W * A * R * D .

    but lets be real...

Who else can judah beat? Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, and Clottey also would beat him

Same with baldo, and hatton..... i do think the oscar fight is a good win, (well i think their all good wins but you have to put them in perspective)

The fact that all of todays elite WW's would beat those guys too puts it into perspectie a bit....

anyone who calls mayweather jr. a "coward" is just an absolute idiot. fact is this, mayweather jr. definitely has the best resume of any active fighter today and HAS NEVER BEEN BEATEN! in fact, the only close fight he ever had was the first castillo fight. other than that, he's beaten everyone fairly easily and thoroughly. (the de la hoya split decision was bogus as mayweather easily won that fight).

The man never lets him self get that far out of shape , he walks around 152 at best. Floyd is a 100% Gym Rat , which why he is able to do what he does.
let not confuse ricky bad habit with floyd or even in the same sentience.

i don't see how it's wrong. those were the rankings, or pretty close to. his record is a fact. the welterweight division was weak but that's who was there. he beat #1 baldo, then the man he displaced in judah (who is light years more talented than margarito), then hatton who was seen by many as a threat and the best just ONE weight class below.

margo made noise sure, cause he talks a good game then loses to williams, beats cotto (great fight and win) and then gets STOMPED by mosley. not selling me on that guy

People talk about Cotto like he's this huge monster with massive power. Cotto is actually one inch shorter then Mayweather and is probably not as strong being that most of Floyd's weight is on his upper body. Cotto's does not even have half the handspeed of Floyd either. Best match ups for May would be Mosely, Williams, Margarito in that order. That said, Cotto is still a better match for May then Pacquiao.

Hell, PBF plays it so safe, I hear his handlers are in negotiation with '2 Smooth' Booth for a war of the 'welterweights!'
