Floyd Mayweather is clearly the greatest fighter of his generation and probably in the top 10 of all-time greats. There is no questioning his superiority as a boxer, and even a loss to Ortiz or Pacquiao would not significantly tarnish the legacy he will enjoy in the boxing world. As a person, though, Floyd deserves contempt. He demonstrates repeatedly the behavior of a person who lacks basic values. He's the poster child for everything that is wrong with overpaid, over-privileged athletes... SOURCE
"An army of sycophants surround Floyd telling him that whatever he does is great. An army of proxies troll the Internet defending the indefensible actions of their hero. There is a single letter difference between class and crass. Neither Floyd nor his defenders show any knowledge of the distinction..."
"His motivation was the same as alwaysto keep the attention focused on him. There are three- year-olds with more impulse control and maturity than boxing's greatest talent." :rofl
I watched "Grave of the Fireflies" yesterday and later I saw the money burning clip, made me sick really... it's a sad world we live in
greatest of his generation - no top 10 all time - not even close . He's not even in the top 30. the rest of what you said is true though.
1996 Olympic Bronze Medalist, 125 Lbs 1996 National Golden Gloves Champion, 125 Lbs 1996 Michigan State Golden Gloves Champion, 125 Lbs 1995 U.S. National Champion, 125 Lbs 1995 National PAL Champion, 125 Lbs; Outstanding Boxer award 1994 National Golden Gloves Champion,; Outstanding Boxer Award 1994 Michigan State Golden Gloves champion, 112 Lbs 1993 National Golden Gloves Champion, 106 Lbs 1993 Michigan State Golden Gloves Champion, 106 Lbs 1996 Olympics, 125 pounds in his first fight in July 1996, he stopped Bakhtiyar Tileganov of Kazakhstan at 0:57 of the 2nd round. In his 2nd fight in July 1996, he won a 16-3 decision against Artur Gevorgyan of Armenia. In the quarter finals in July 1996, Mayweather won a 16-3 decision against Lorenzo Aragon of Cuba, becoming the first U.S. boxer to defeat a Cuban in 20 years. In the semi finals in August 1996, he lost a very controversial 10-9 decision, which the U.S. team protested against Serafim Todorov of Bulgaria. 1998 Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year 2007 Ring Magazine Fighter of the Year 2002 World Boxing Hall of Fame Fighter of the Year Former WBC Superfeatherweight Champion Former WBC Lightweight Champion Former WBC Light Welterweight Champion Former IBF Welterweight Champion Former WBC Welterweight Champion Former WBC Light Middleweight Champion best boxer his generation bar ****ing none ! yall must of forgot or never knew, whats with the bitching about mayweather's personal problems. he's not your daddy or super hero, hes a ****ing fighter and the best one at that. who cares if he poked a security guard in the face or rescued at cat out of the tree or his baby mama drama. i like floyd because of his skills in the ring period, you think people loved jordan because of what he did on the court or off ******s ? by the way jordan was a real life dickhead.
"who cares if he poked a security guard in the face or rescued at cat out of the tree or his baby mama drama. i like floyd because of his skills in the ring period" If Floyd wasn't a boxer, you had never heard of him, and you saw him burn a $100 bill, woould you not feel the slightest bit of contempt for it? Nobody is questioning his ability ot fight, that's why he's adored like he is. But today we heard constantly about Jobs being lost, families struggling etc. due to irresponsible people. And the people responsible for the current economic situation we're paid fat bonuses while it was all under the radar. I can't help but think of those poor people suffering due to no fault of their own when I see Mayweather burning $100 dollar bills. It's quite sick actually.
No way Floyd is top ten, accomplishments being his demise. He definately has a top ten skills and ability, but his resume although very very impressive does not trump fighters that fought in his weight class, let alone across the weights.
And you're helping the cause by giving him the attention he craves via threads and watching fights, and even if you don't pay for the fights this thread is a form of advertisment. If you really don't have a *******s agenda stop making him popular and satisfying the attention hore. I'm guess you're an attention hore as well and are making this thread not to solve anything but to get 10 page thread u crave for.
