Then Floyd should have fought him ... but he didn't.

Khan would have a decent shout at a decision if he survived 12 rounds but the fight would have the same ending as when he was knocked out by Canelo.

Floyd would have found that chin.

A duck, in my opinion, occurs when a fighter avoids a fight he fears he will lose.

No one will ever convince me that Floyd believed Khan could or would beat him.

He shouldn't have put him as an option on a poll of who to fight ... and then avoid him when he won the poll ;)

    No argument there, homie.

As I mentioned, however, Floyd may have wished to deny Khan the payday. Again, I don't know, but he didn't "duck" Khan because he worried he'd lose to that obscenely overhyped Brit.

Why would he want to deny Khan a payday. Being from the UK and speaking English, I think Khan might have made Floyd more money. Floyd is a calculated cherry picker, it's not that he might have thought Khan would beat him but he thought, taller, fast, rangier fighter or a typical crude slugger I tend to eat for breakfast (and who lost to Khan)? Easy choice.

Perhaps Floyd didn't like Khan's endless clout chasing. Who knows? It's not as if athletes are wired to always react rationally or logically.

What's comical, however, is the notion that Floyd believed Amir Khan, who had been starched by such immortals as Prescott and Danny G, had the ring IQ and boxing acumen to outpoint him over 12 rounds.

Sorry, hoss. That dog doesn't hunt.

I'm not arguing that Floyd shouldn't have fought Khan. I'm entirely ambivalent on the matter. Defeating Khan, an overhyped Brit with quick hands and very little else, wouldn't have done much to enhance Floyd's already HOF resume.

What I'm objecting to is this revisionist interpretation of Khan, that he was somehow this big, bad boogeyman Floyd was afraid to fight.

The fact he didn't fight Kahn after he said he would duck

    We've now come full circle.

    No need to argue.

    We just define "ducking" differently.

I believe a duck occurs when a fighter refuses to fight another because he's afraid he'll lose.

Neither you nor anyone else will ever convince me that Floyd believed he'd lose to Amir Khan. That's laugh out loud humorous.

He's had a history of only taking fight he can 100% win and delaying others

I totally agree he ain't afraid of Kahn just loosing that marketing tool 0

We'll let that be the final word (otherwise we'll be repeating ourselves).

    Cheers.

So Floyd put Khan in the poll even though he didn't want to give him a payday because he was clout chasing? Haha, sure.

Conor would have never gotten a fight if "clout chasing" was an issue for Floyd.

Apparently you missed the part where I replied "who knows" after mentioning the possibility of clout chasing.

If you choose to believe Floyd "ducked" Khan, be my guest. I really don't care.

But if your intent is to convince me that Floyd didn't fight Khan because he was afraid he'd lose, save yourself the keystrokes, because you're wasting your time (and mine).
