Lets See... SO if Floyd fights Marquez next, he's ducking Shane, Cotto, Pac, hell even Kermit Cintron and Andre Berto.

If he fights Pac next, he's ducking Cotto still as well as Sugar Shane.

If he fights Sugar Shane Next, he's ducking Marquez, Cotto, Pac. etc

    you get the picture.

The guy has a list and it includes names like Cotto, Mosley, Pacquiao, even Victor Ortiz when he's ready.. they'll all get that ass torn out the frame!

Then all you haterz out there can go back to dogging another hall of famer.

    Cotto Proves Mayweather Wrong
    By Scoop Malinowski BoxingInsider

April 21, 2008: A few months ago, Floyd Mayweather responded to questions about fighting Miguel Cotto by saying "Miguel Cotto is a punching bag...and Miguel Cotto knows he can't beat me."

Well, as it turns out Floyd was wrong about Cotto. The unbeaten WBA Welterweight champ from Puerto Rico actually does want to fight Mayweather and believes he can beat the talented 30-year-old wunderkind.

But as it's pretty obvious now, Mayweather refuses to discuss fighting Cotto and also refuses to enter into any kind of negotiations. Mayweather's reluctance has certainly raised the eyebrows of Cotto.

Do you think Mayweather actually is afraid of you? "I don't know what kind of reason he has for choosing another fighter," says Cotto. "If you want to be the best you have to fight the best."

You actually believe you will beat Floyd don't you? "I'm pretty sure of that," answers Cotto. When asked why he believes so: "Because of my training. Because of my - I trust a lot in myself. And I'm always do more than 100% in my training sessions."

Cotto says he sees vulnerabilities in Mayweather which he knows how to exploit. "He's quick. He's fast. But when you put pressure on him he closes his mind."

Since Cotto's impressive domination of Alfonso Gomez earlier this month, Mayweather has been in virtual hiding. Mayweather defenders say Floyd will eventually fight Cotto but is patiently letting the fight build itself up.

But if Mayweather really wanted to fight Cotto wouldn't he make some kind of public comment about Cotto's latest performance, so as to stoke the fires of the inevitable showdown? And as far as I know, Mayweather didn't even show up to watch one of his favorite boxers Bernard Hopkins against Joe Calzaghe this weekend.

Mayweather's absolute silence about Cotto since the Gomez victory should be construed as further evidence that Mayweather would prefer to ignore Cotto than ever fight him. And that Floyd was being dishonest when he told us Cotto is just a punching bag and that Cotto knows he can't beat Mayweather.

So therefore the truth in Floyd's heart of hearts is probably something more like, "Cotto is the best welterweight in the world today and I'm gonna keep my big mouth shut now because I don't want to fuel his fire any more or fuel any talks of us ever fighting each other because I could never hold him off for 12 rounds. And hopefully Cotto will lose to Antonio Margarito and I will never ever have to fight that fearless relentless beast."

We'll be on the lookout for the missing person Mayweather. Maybe he's been having recurring nightmares about Cotto. Maybe he's getting professional help to come to terms to deal with his fears. Or Bob Arum was right. Maybe Floyd did buy a ticket for a flight to Mars after seeing how violently impressive Cotto and Margarito were on April 12.

Floyd Admits Cotto Could Give Him Brain Damage

    By Scoop Malinowski BoxingInsider

July 14, 2008: The greatest fighter in the history of the world retired recently. Suddenly quit the game in his prime at age 31.

"When I'm 50 or 60, I want to be able to know my kids, and I want them to know me. I want all five senses to be sharp, sharp as a razor," says Floyd, confessing basically that a fight with Miguel Cotto or Antonio Margarito might permanently damage those faculties. "I want to be able to live my life. That's one thing I'll say about my father, he gets around real, real good. My mother gets around real, real good. I want to be like that."

With the brutal violence and relentless determination that Cotto and Margarito fight with, it makes sense that the protected and coddled Floyd would opt to avoid such a beat-down, no matter what the monetary payday would be. Floyd is simply not accustomed to having to fight young, big and strong vicious and ruthless wrecking machines - and he is not about to start now.

But Floyd left the door open that he will come back to the ring, of course only if he can find an easy enough assignment, which obviously excludes Cotto and Margarito. "If I did want to come back, I was going to make, what, $50 million (for the De La Hoya rematch)? You know what, don't call my phone unless you've got $100 million."

But if the conversation includes the names Cotto or Margarito, Floyd is content to cling to his retirement. "I'm through. Once I tell people I'm through, I'm through. People say, 'Oh, he retired and came back, after the De La Hoya fight.' I didn't retire and come back. I just fought one more fight, against Ricky Hatton. And as soon as I beat him, it was, 'What about this guy (Cotto)?' and 'What about that guy (Margarito)?' It's never good enough. Some boxing people weren't going to be happy until I take a loss, and that's not ever going to happen. I achieved all I wanted to achieve."

Floyd did achieve a lot, six titles, fame, fortune. He is a very, very talented boxer and athlete - when his competition is carefully selected. But in the eyes of many, Floyd's a, as Bob Arum says, "psychological coward." And the classic bully who only handpicks opponents he knows he will beat (Hatton, Oscar, Gatti).

Now relaxing in his well-deserved "retirement," Floyd is expecting the world to come knocking on his door with all kinds of mega million endorsement and entertainment offers. Because Floyd, in his mind, has become the greatest living boxer in history, better than Ali, Robinson, Leonard, Duran, etc.

But those endorsement offers won't be coming. Nike, Pepsi, Gatorade, McDonalds, Hollywood knows the difference between authentic and counterfeit.

To be the best you have to fight the best and defeat them.

The greatest fighter of all time does not walk away in his prime age at 31 unless he's frightened of something.

"When I'm 50 or 60, I want to be able to know my kids, and I want them to know me. I want all five senses to be sharp, sharp as a razor."

Now which fighters are strong, mighty and capable enough to inflict such violence on the self-proclaimed greatest boxer in history Floyd Mayweather? Yep, you know it. Cotto and Margarito.

Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito will meet in "The Battle" on July 26 to determine who is the best welterweight in the world today. Floyd Mayweather will be watching on TV in the comfort of his home, with his health and wealth intact. And for sure, Floyd will be feeling a deep awe and admiration for the courage and bravery Cotto and Margarito possess for fighting each other.

Cotto vs. Margarito is not about dollars and sense. It's not about fame and fortune. It's not about legacy or moving up levels. Cotto and Margarito are fighting each other because they want to discover who is the BEST.

Floyd never stopped telling us he as the best. But when it came time to prove it, he retired. And good for him his health and wealth are still intact.

You r right he takes henry bruseles, gatti, baldomir, judah?? LOL Mayweather is a great fight but he is not a "pay per view attraction" by any means.

People will pay to see him fight if they think his opponent has a chance to beat him if not you will see poor payperview numbers and ticket sales.

JMM is ranked higher P4P than Shane and arguably beat Pac the man PBF is targeting in his comeback but people like you can't see it. The whole reason why PBF is coming back is to fight Pac and take back his crown.:deal Shane is good option but not as good as JMM for setting up a fight with Pac not to mention PBF tried to fight Shane but it was Shane who turned down PBF on HBO saying he needed to get his tooth fixed and go on vacation with his family. 6:00 min mark

King froze out Lewis from fighting Tyson. King tried to freeze out Lewis from getting the rematch with Rahman but Lewis went to court and got the judge to force Rahman to take the rematch. King also froze out Lewis after he lost to McCall, Lewis got to #1 again but then Tyson got out of jail and the WBC ranked Tyson #1 over Lewis. Lewis had to go to court to get the eventual title shot vs. McCall in rematch which came after Tyson vacated the belt after paying Lewis $4 million step aside with promise to fight him after Seldon. King froze out Wladimir from fighting Byrd for a year, by leapfrogging Williamson over Wlad in the rankings after Wlad beat Williamson. King then got the IBF to force Wlad to fight Peter. King froze Vitali out of unification bouts with Byrd and Ruiz. I'm sure there are many other examples of King freezing out certain fighters he didn't control.
