I have been watching a lot of PBF on youtube and on dvd last couple of weeks, and I think I have been guilty of underrating the guy. That clip you bring up is stunning, I have never seen anyone not get clipped by a single punch in a rapid 20-punch barrage while on the ropes. I still say PBF doesn't have a great resume, but he did have truly great ability at his best weights.
Reg, do you think PBF matches that clip v N'Dou by showing equally brilliant defensive ability anywhere else in his career? I know his defence was consistently excellent, but is there another clip you think showcases that as good as the N'Dou one? I am compiling a 'Great Defence' video just now featuring him, Toney, Hopkins, Whitaker, and others, and I think this N'Dou clip is the best, but what other moments were a standout?
The De La Hoya fight featured some great defense by Floyd. The Bruseles and Corrales fights stand out as well. I would say look for clips on the Oscar and Bruseles fights. There were some pretty moves in those fights.
