Floyd Mayweather H2H at 140 and 147

IMHO Floyd's all around skills and physical athleticism was at their peak at 140. None of the above fighters possess the necessary skills to topple him. Quartey and his excellent jab would come the closest...i see that fight going either way.

Taylor's speed would cause problems early, but Floyd would get the better down the stretch.

Tszyu who was also a great fighter at the weight who had a good power and could walk down fighters would simply get outboxed by Floyd.

 

i have always said to beat floyd you have to out jab him

so i think he owuld beat Tsyu, mcgirt, curry and taylor but i think taylor would be abit like the judah fight

i think quartys jab wins him the fight

 

Prime Curry would be too much for Mayweather at 147. He would outjab him and would get the better of the infighting if he chose to do so. Pretty close decision over 12.

 

KOSTYA TSZYU (of 2001) @ 140 - takes away's Tyszu's right and uses his speed to win a wide wide UD, wouldn't rule out a late TKO on accumulation if Kostya turns up the pace and FMJs hands stay unbroken. Tyszu's defense is very very open and this doesn't bode well against the very elite with faster hands

MELDRICK TAYLOR of 1980s @ 140 - Taylor isn't nearly as good a boxer or strategist as Floyd and is defensively open, I always found his speed well overrated too. Still not an easy fight. FMJ uses movement and timing on him and scores more accurately, beating him to the punch too with good timing and distance. 8-4 FMJ

BUDDY McGIRT (of 1991) @ 147 - Mcgirt is very underrated now and perhaps Whitakers toughest challenge in his prime. FMJ 8-4 type decision

DON CURRY (of 1985) @ 147 - the toughest fight of the bunch. The combination of speed, combos, natural boxing ability and strength at 147 makes Curry the toughest opponent. I see this as a very close fight, Floyd's better stamina down the stretch may edge out a 7-5 type decision.

IKE QUARTEY (of 1996) @ 147 - the predictable 1 paced jabbing isn't going to outbox FMJ, the jab gets taken away or countered, widish UD

 

Floyd stands no chance against Curry at Welterweight.

Quartey and McGirt have good shots at him at the weight as well, though I'd probably slightly favor him over Taylor and Tszyu. It's not out of the realm of possibility for either to beat him, though. He is comically overrated, especially above 130.

 

Damn you overrate Floyd.

Curry would give him the business at 147.

All the other guys listed would have excellent chances of beating Floyd also, except for McGirt. Buddy couldnt handle speed. Floyd would outbox him clearly.

 

Mayweather just has not been that convincing since he left 130..His choice of opponents after Castillo have overall been pretty average and he just didnt look that great dealing with them either.

I really dont rate him very high as a welter and a lot of the best would have beaten him there...His 140 resume is very weak but Im willing to accept that he would do quite well there more then likely. There probably is only a few guys there who would beat him clearly at that weight.

One of the greatest 130 pounders ever and quite possibly the best man there H2H..at least for dedicated superfeathers..After that I dont feel he fares that well against the top tier in all of those divisions..especially welter.

There is no argueing that kind of ignorance because most of those guys would have only seen the older fighters whilst playing Fight Night on playstation. And thats how they are coming to their conclusions.
