It looks like he has a good chin but he did nearly buckle from one of mosleys shots but to say he is iron chinned, not enough info as he chin doesnt get tested anywhere near enough to back that up

Ofcourse it means a lot...the bigger guy will undoubtedly have the heavier hands, but that doesn't always equate to extra power. And when you take into account that 99% of the time Margarito only throws arm punches, and rarely throws his body into punches...

I have not once mentioned Mayweather's chin, I said Mosley's punches looked clearly harder than Margarito's uppercuts...and they were.

how come most of here say that skill+good defense makes a boxer have an iron chin? floyd held on for dear life after shane almost knocked him out at the 2nd. But all thanks to floyds recovering ability + good clinching,

Had floyd never have the defensive skill he possesses, he could have been sparked by corrales back when floyd was at the lower weights. But he's floyd, the defensive genius. Let him fight valuev then lets see lol

Erm...throughout the whole fight, Mosley lands two decent punches, and he badly rocks Mayweather in both of them.

To be honest Mosley never hit cotto like he hit floyd... he had his whole body in those shots... cotto the way his stance was, shane just could not get full leverage. Cotto did a great job that night... it's strange how he showed good defense that night, but in his fights after that... defense just went down the drain.

I know there's enough proof that Mayweather has an iron chin already, but i bring some more

1:30, more irrefutable proof that he has an iron chin, takes big punches and still stands right in front of Corley and trades punches

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dkz1WKvE-Pk&feature=feedu[/ame]

followed by the 4th round where he was hurt (for a millisecond) and he went on to dominate the rest of that fight.

good chin definitely, but certainly not iron.

For comparison, Mosely hit Floyd with two big shots and almost had him out of there...it took Mosely about 200 of those shots to get Margarito out of there.

    Floyd - good chin
    Margarito - caste iron chin

    Great thread!

Seeing *****s make fools out of themselves and get their asses handed to them is priceless...

Don't forget that Mayweather also hits quite hard, probably top 10 ATG, definitely proportionally as strong as Mike Tyson, Foreman, etc. And he also pees apple juice! He's in the process of bottling up that **** and making millions!

Not even close to having him out of there. At best you can say that he came close to scoring a knockdown, but he didn't even get that.

You know Cotto who doesn't have an Iron Chin took all of Mosley's punches and never even stumbled once. Mosley who is probably "naturally" the hardest puncher he faced in his career couldn't hurt him. Yet Cotto was wobbled by Corley, Judah, Torres, Ukal, i'm sure there are more. I always found that out to be strange.

Mayweather's chin must be very good though as he is usually the smaller guy who is outweighed on fight night.

People talk about Margarito and Mosley's chins yet Margo is 5'11 and comes in at 160 vs WWs. Mosley is 5'9 and comes in at 160 vs WWs. Mayweather is 5'8 and usually weighs in at 146 vs WWs.
