Well, I have been comparing the past and present fighters ever since I joined ESB.. On the threads and poll that I have a part of, the past greats always get a one-sided vote..

It's just that, Duran is a not a demigod.. SRL defeated him convincingly, Hearns knocked him out, somebody in their era scored an upset against him.. Only proves one thing, he's beatable.. But he did not ducked anyone and with that he has made a mark in boxing history.. Actually, he's #8 on my all time great list..

On the other hand, Floyd Mayweather.. He could have been something greater than Duran.. :smoke

but every fighter is differant... some fighters spend there whole careers at bantam

some grow like floyd or pac... but he isent going to slowly grow to all the way to heavyweight

the man is 36 now if im not mistaken?, he aient going to grow any more...

he is past his prime, the least he could do is not be a condescending **** and put in a catchweight after he took on cotto at his weight

IF HE BEATS SERGIO AT 154 EVERYONE MUST GIVE HIM CREDIT
anything below that he gets nothing (actually looses respect in my book)

154 is the ONLY weight it can take place short of a catchweight, which I find nothing wrong with. 150, Sergio will be emaciated, whether he admits it or not. 160 is unfair to Mayweather, one look at Floyd's height, reach, and overall structure and it's obvious he has no business at Middleweight.

Personally I don't care what weight. As long as Sergio isn't drained that will significantly affect his performance. Meaning he is just prevented from bulking up, but not weakened.

Maybe we should hear what "Current" Floyd has to say...
Best weight tho would be a catch between Middleweight.
(So Floyd coud qualify for a championship @ MW)

I agree. Mayweather is such a hypocrite. He bashes Pacquiao for having catchweight fights, but he wants to meet Sergio at a catchweight which is four lbs. lower than his current weight class. Sergio beats Floyd in a middleweight contest.

160 would be the most impressive and meaningful weight for Floyd's legacy should he win. But he doesn't have that big a set, so I'd be happy with 154 which is still worth quite a lot. 150 is a **** fight.

I know they are. And Floyd would get a bunch of hate for taking it at a catchweight.

Considering that Floyd can still easily make 147, heck, hes not even that big of a 147, going to 160 is just stupid.

Both can fight at 154 and Floyd has a world title there, Sergio can make 154 easily enough.

    154 is the obvious choice.

    154 or 160.

Floyd already fights at 154. Making it a lower weight then he is is a punk move.

If Floyd really want to get some bonus props, make it at 160, and try to become Middleweight champ.
