actually I thought the best so far on 24/7 was PBF saying 'Mosley you getting paid because of me.. Im the money man"...

to which Mosley said " Im a partner in GB... Im writing PBF's check"

    ****ing CLASSIC

 YES! I forgot about that one, me and me wife laughed pretty hard at that one.

Im sure Floyd pissed his Gucci pampers when he heard that :yep, then one of Floyd's rapper buddies probably just made up a freestyle saying how much richer Floyd is than Shane so Floyd felt better.

They don't exist now that Floyd is the numero uno, AKA GOAT.

However, I remember after the Hatton fight he said he liked his father, uncle, Aaron Pyror, etc. And that he thought Marquez was a great fighter and arguably the P4P #1 (Think he was retired).

He hardly ever says much about this subject though.

    Eh...

Floyd's wrong, but his statement doesn't offend me much either.

He's Ring's #2 pound-for-pound in the world today and a victory over Mosley would put him in the top spot again. Only a handful of fighters (out of tens of thousands) in the history of the sport have attained that kind of status. Incorrect though he ultimately is, Floyd has a better argument for his claim than 99.9% of fighters in boxing history.

Or to put it another way: IF we have anybody equal to Robinson today and it's not Floyd (or Shane, or Pacquiao), then who is it?

I strongly disagree with him, but as a Top Level boxer he's entitled to his opinion.

I understand where he's coming from when he says that he gave this sport his life. He had a childhood of eating, sleeping, and shitting boxing everyday. The sport IS his life.

For him to say another person is better than him, would basically be saying another man's life was better than his.

I disagree, but its not like he doesn't have stake to make a claim.

I also remember Sugar Ray Leonard being asked this question some time ago to compare himself to the greats and Ray Leonard said something among the lines of "If there is one single fighter who doesn't believe he is the best he's in the wrong sport"

Ask Carl Froch this question. Carl Froch is on top of Mt. Everest right about now with his resume

Im just curious and im not asking this to bash you but, What does a person's boxing knowledge have to do with when they join a website forum and how many post they have. Do you realize that if George Foreman joined this site, and listed his user name as Big G, he would still at some point have one post, and be listed as a newbie...but i would bet that he has more boxing knowledge that 3 people with 10000 post combined.

I really can t believe people base their life around a message board and take this **** seriously.

    Really?

I think Pacquiao is so far ahead, Mayweather can't catch him until Pacquiao loses or something else happens to take him out of the list entirely, similar to Pacquiao taking the number one spot, so maybe the election, for instance.

I think there are tougher opponents for Mayweather than Mosley and even if he beat them, I wouldn't have him ahead of Pacquiao, as long as Pacquiao keeps winning.

Oddly, there seems to be a history of the number one fighters keeping their spot, despite the numbers 2 and 3 beating better fighters. Again, looking at Mayweather's reign at the top, he stayed there despite beating several poor opponents. I don't think The Ring are ever too eager to change the number 1 spot, without serious reason to.

There is no way around it, in order to have a legit #1 p4p today, Pac vs Floyd must happen.

And even if floyd beats pac, **** even if Floyd ko's pac, he will need to do more still to secure a legacy of being the current day best, which he very well may be, while also beating the best. I say that because, sure he's got some names of the best on his record, but alot of them were blown up from the weight they were effective at. Floyd went to a weight that really wasnt his normal ONCE, and almost payed the price against the remains of DLH. Shane Mosley is a good start of fighting good fighters at their optimum weight (I honestly dont care about Sugars age, he's at least a legit p4p ww), and hopefully Floyd will continue this trend of opposition.

I don't blame the man for asserting that he's the best. You SHOULD believe that **** if you're going to get in the ring. Problem I have, is that if you're going to actually SAY that in public, you best be ready to go on a Pac style tear thru every division within two weight classes of yours and clean them out, otherwise it sounds like all bull, no balls.
