This goes for everyone else too.

Public images shouldn't be taken so seriously.

Fans don't really know an athlete just because they watch him on camera.

Mayweather just wants to live the rapper lifestyle but with out the rap..As long as he does what he does in the ring his mouth is the last thing I care about when it concerns him ..If this was 20 yrs ago it be Machco Camacho or Someone else ..Its all an act ..

Did anyone else think that Mayweather's interview with Merchant in the ring after the fight showed a completely different Mayweather than what we just saw again from 24/7?

I just needed my memory refreshed, cause I knew how he generally is post fight, but that was him acting like an adult I think.

Sugar Ray Robinson went 40-0, then he lost a close decision to Lamotta. He went 5-1 (1) vs. Lamotta lifetime. After his first loss he went 88-0-2 1NC in his next 91 fights. I doubt Mayweather could do that.

Mayweather always acts like an adult after his fights. That same Yahoo article you are talking about go and read it and see how he praised Gatti after shitting on him the entire time. He does what he does to make $. But you can tell he's a nice guy. People fall into his ****. Whether you want him to win or lose, long as you buy the fight he's cool with it.

Yea, May showed, in fight build ups, he is alot like Mayorga. Haha maybe not quite as extreme as Mayorga, but you get what I'm saying.

And yes, I do remember Mayweather after the Gatti fight, he was a Professional and didn't boast to Gatti, he embraced him just like Ward did. So I have fully realized, that Mayweather is all about the pre-fight hype, and as we all know it works.

If Mayweather ever fights Pac, and wins, he solidifies himself as this generations best p4p fighter (if you believe in p4p).

If PBF goes on some crazy spree of beating everyone worth mentioning from ww through lmw and retires at 50-0 or something, I honestly still don't believe he will have done enough to be mentioned in the same breath as SRR.

88-0 period is impressive to me.

Honestly at this point there is no way May is gonna fight more than twice a year to find out. But at this level of comp, I would be amazed if he made it to the 80-0 mark. (< If May had enough youth left to get to 80-0 without being 45 years old)

If Floyd fought a shitload more (chavez style) earlier, and made it to a high undefeated mark, and was at the point were are today with him needing to fight pacquiao for p4p supremacy, and Floyd defeated Pacquaio handily, he would have a much better argument for being better than SRR.

That would be good for boxing if Mayweather really does what he said when he came out of his "retirement", and will continue fighting the best before he hangs them up for good.

Maybe he could beat enough people to get in the top ten p4p all time before his final retirement?
