The only boxers that can beat Floyd IMO are the ones that are fast and accurate enough to penetrate his defence from time to time while cappable of mantaining a high punch output.

I do believe Pacq was of the right type. Not saying he would have won, but he definitely could have. Mayweather camp was really concerned by this, hence why they asked special testing.

Mosley still has the speed and accuracy. Plus, he has the size/reach to at least match Floyd. What I don't see him having is the work rate. I mean, he throws a decent amount of punches, but to convince the refs, one would have to throw a lot more.

I think a Paul Williams type of fighter would soundly beat Floyd, with his work rate alone.
Mosley's no Williams and I hope he won't go for the KO early on, that is a recipe for disaster. But don't blame Shane for focusing on his strength as means of beating Floyd. Strength is Shane's main advantage over Floyd. An average Shane punch is harder than anything Floyd can throw.

Let me just say this about "Timing": It has a lot to do with skill no doubt, whether you are talking about defensive reflexes and counterpunching or if you mean taking control of the fight by being effective and aggressive at the same time. But having said that, that does not dismistify what timing really means - to time someone now and again, it has to do with fast thinking and almost automatic mind-body transfer/natural body coordination. Many can not tell Mayweather from Mosley in what has to do with speed and fluid boxing skills and it will come to the very first moments of the fight for the fans to confirm who has the best strategy along with boxing I.Q. in real time mode. Bottom line, Mayweather relies mostly on long, leading shots and getting out with his excellent legs and Mosley expects to capitalize big on power ( strength and speed) when they happen to mix inside or outside.

Disagree with some of this assessment. Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright are more challenging then Floyd. And both would have beaten Floyd. Bigger, stronger and punch harder. I think Mayweather would have beaten a prime Cotto though in a 116-112 fashion. Mayweather will definitley bring more angles and more speed then both Forrest and Wright. But he doesnt have any of the physical advantages on Shane. He may have more speed now, but not by much. Plus Mosley is the stronger of the 2. In fact Mosley is stronger then Oscar(even without Balco) so this will be Mayweather toughest opponent strength and speed wise. But off of the Cotto fight, I will stand by Mayweather as a 2 to 1 favorite. But if the odds continue at 3 to 1 or up to 4 to 1, Mosley could be a great bet.

Floyd is going to show a dimension that Mosley or any other fighter for that matter has never seen. He's going to show intelligence and adaptability ... he's going to make Mosley think about his next move and take Mosley out of the fight psychologically ... just like he's done to the other 40 fighters. The blueprint on how to beat Shane is out there ... he has 5 L's already. This isn't going to be a peice of cake ... and Floyd will most likely get the stoppage.

    I assume you mean cuts.:think

Can you or someone else please explain how a guy with a 63% ko ration with 1 TKO in his last five fight against a guy he was unloading flush on all night (and it still took 10 rounds) is going to ko a guy who's never been ko'd?

I can't wait to hear this.

I meant accumulation of punishment ... and styles make fights ... If you have heart and you come at Floyd istead of going into a shell then you run the risk of getting stopped. If Shane finds himself down after the mid point of the fight, he's going to take risks to get try and win.

You don't even consider floyd's hands in this fight do you?
He stands NO CHANCE of a KO.
