Floyd Mayweather is an Uninspiring Amateur

SRL had the gifts and ability to outpoint anyone and he could have easily retired undefeated. Instead he chose to go almost toe to toe with Duran and lost in a great fight. Mayweather could have done that with PAC. SRR showed in the rematch what he could have done in the first had he chosen to. The rematch with Duran was still alot better than any of mayweathers fights.

 

Another thread comparing an old Floyd to prime fighters. Did Floyd change his style with age and through multiple weight divisions....yes.

I agree. Watch him at 130 or 135. Totally different fighter.

 

But Floyd is a non-puncher who fights bigger guys mostly. Wlad is a puncher fighting smaller guys mostly.
For that reason I find Floyd easier on the eye and less irritating.

 

Floyd at least throws punches some of Wlad's fights aren't even boxing matches

The current Mayweather fights like an uninspiring amateur. He just does. At 130-135 he fought like a professional boxer.

In those divisions he was trying to land combo's and sit down on his punches.

140, as well. He really only began to emphasize defense and pot shot at welterweight. Even then, he's had good fights with Cotto, Maidana, Hatton, and Judah.
