It should be easy to name at least 5 out of 48 fights where he "ran" in then right? Also name the fights where his opponent got robbed...
My point still stands. What I mentioned is very different to 'giving away' the final minute of the round...and yet Maidana can decide to try to sway judges opinions by fighting in the last minute and a half as hardcore as he did. You can't really use a blatant robbery to defend your point. Cotto beat Mayweather up more though, just as my original point claims. 'Keeping opponents at bay' hardly tells the truth of the matter. Well at the end of the day, I see Mayweather as less of a fighter, more of a fencer.
Nope. I really like Willie Pep. He has his similarities to Mayweather but Mayweather is just an extreme. A distinctive feature about Willie was that he was not the type of guy who hug. He would tend to lead to almost wrestling his way to being able to land good punches on the inside, evading shots in the inside with immediate return fire. Mayweather...not so much. He literally grabbed Pacquiao. Hold mi tyt, or wil crie evrytim :'(
Oh yes I can. Pac took significant portions of the rounds off and fought in spurts. It provided judges with the impression that Bradley was doing more consistent work in many of those frames. By fighting in spurts, and not producing a consistent effort, Maidana doesn't give Mayweather nearly as many problems as he did the first time around. Instead, we get a replay of what occurred in the second contest. As for Cotto-Mayweather...Cotto gave Mayweather a bloody nose. Mayweather left Cotto bruised and gave him a bit of a hiding in the last couple of rounds to seal the deal. Mayweather may well be a fencer...but he can still fight damned well when he has to.
You genuinely believe the judges thought Bradley won the fight :nut Santa Claus is alive and well. Maidana messed up the second time round. You're misrepresenting Maidana, he just needed that same approach, what does he try to do? Spend most of the time boxing Floyd at the centre of the ring. lol. Maidana if he's playing the outpointing game just needs to measure the level of effective aggression & onslaught. That's literally it. He had his success which Mayweather had no answer for, every single time he used the same approach - he needed to form an uninspiring gameplan around this to win, as I stated earlier. It's obvious who was the most beaten up in that fight, and by the way, appearance on the face is not the only way to discern such a thing. 'Damned well' - well...erm. You clearly want to be right for the sake of being right, there, be right, if it makes you feel better.
Appearances aren't everything, but... Cotto was the one throwing up following the contest. Mayweather was the one doing interviews and smiling cheerfully at ringside. That's a bit of a tell as to who received more punishment. I'm more of a Cotto fan than a Mayweather fan, but Cotto caught a bit of a hiding in the last couple of rounds. As for Maidana, he achieved success through the use of his jab and by controlling range. He didn't achieve that same success throughout the whole of the first fight, though. Mayweather landed his share and landed clean enough to dictate where the fight was held in the last few rounds. I don't see how Maidana achieves success by attempting to out-point Mayweather. He's not and has never been that kind of fighter.
for someone who disdains pot shotting you dont seem to mind manny doing it against bradley in their first constant. Hating is one thing but be consistent. When I was watching the fight i knew it could possibly be closer than HBO had it. Bradley was working hard, though it may not have been effective. Saying the judges bailed out Bradley is just asinine. Manny is the money maker not bradley. Beating Bradley would have got us a Mayweather fight quicker. Giving it to bradley at absolutely 0 money making results.
Willie was just as responsible as Saddler was for the clinch-fests that were their third and fourth fights.:deal
