This is the fight I wanna see the most right now.

    Mayweather/Mosley
    Cotto/Margarito

Then have the winners face one another.

being difficult with the media or being a jerk is not the point...the point is PBF hasn't backed up his mouth in recent years and that has hurt his credibility...you can't be the no 1 p4p, be black, and say you're going to destroy DLH inside the distance and then fight a safety-first fight...i like PBF but that's not how it works here in America...everybody can't be Ali, he was a jerk too and there was a time when no one liked him, but he won everyone over by producing the fireworks he said he would produce, and he had charisma...PBF doesn't have that, i call'em like i see'em...

the general puplic doesn't have to know crap about boxing...all they have to do is support who they like, and money will be made...ones that know boxing know that Arturo Gatti was never an elite fighter, but the general public near his hometown will fill up the arena to see him fight...

If you're talking about the general public and Floyd being loved, then I agree.

But even if Mayweather were more likeable and the DLH fight was more action-packed, I doubt Floyd would be a crossover star. That's rare in boxing anyway.

But you're talking about "true greatness".

Floyd can be dull and win a boring decision a la the Baldomir fight, against guys like Cotto, Mosley, Hatton, etc.....and he'd still be a great despite people not liking him.

Plenty of greats have low KO percentages are were not the most crowd-pleasing.

yup, either way Floyd goes people are never going to give Floyd his repsect. Hatton called him out, the man wants to come out of retirement to fight him. Let him fight Hatton first and then after we can debate on his next opponent. To me a fight with Mosley all people are going to say is that, Floyd beat Mosley when he was past his prime etc. etc. etc. Hatton is undefeated and in his prime, and he called him out, more incentive to woop Hattons ass. Migeul Cotto should be Floyd's opponent after Hatton. Again he is young and undefeated. Him fightin Mosley will be a good fight, but i wouldnt make any sense. B/c there will alays be an xcuse with him from the media, and Floyd haters.:deal

Good response Jinx and I do see your points. I was expecting to check back and see someone say i have floyds nuts in my mouth:lol: . PBF wasnt always that way though, he used to be all yes sir, yes ma'am when talking to people. I am no floyd lover but i do like to watch him fight and appreciate his skill level. I may not have seen them all but at what point did floyd start "running" as people love to put it? the Baldi fight? Early years esp. I always saw PBF in there fightin and gettin some KO's. Was it when he moved in weight and everyone was a bit bigger than him? I didn't follow hardcore until recently and was wondering?

we're still missing each other on the "greatness" point...i never said PBF wasn't a great fighter...my point was that PBF is not as great as his accomplishments suggest because of the way he has portrayed himself...if PBF were to be permanently retired tomorrow, I would have him in MY top 20-25 fighters of all-time p4p based on accomplishments...but my opinion won't stack up to the many boxing historians or "experts" that do not rate PBF that highly on the "greatness" scale...the fact is PBF is not an all-time great if he retired tomorrow, according to the MAJORITY...

As indicated I only found ESB in March (never was much on computers, that is til i found ESB now i'm late for work and stayin up late cause i can't get enough) but I saw instantly how it goes because before May 5 people were saying Oscar's still got it and he's not old. May 6 Oscar was shot, old as hell, and that's the only reason floyd won.

the ones that comment about PBF being a runner are just haters...i'm like you, i'm not a PBF groupie, but i appreciate his skills...but i also know that he has screwed himself with his mouth...

:rofl:rofl:rofl and its the truth. We had a thread where evry1 chose a side for who was going to win. And the losing end didnt sign on 4 a week, or wateva maybe the case. And the day after people didnt hold up their end of the bet. And all the people that ran with Oscar said he was shot, he didnt look like himself etc. when the day be4 them same people was sayin oscar is 2 big he is gonna woop floyd. Floyd wont be able to "run" from oscar. etc. that whole run thing i quite dont understand but hey

Floyd could fight Mosley. Dominate him. Everyone calls Mosley old. Mosley could go and kick the **** out of Cotto and other top fighters at WW after he got dominated by Floyd, but no one would give Floyd credit.

pbf haters want him to fight a prime fighter but what they mean is a younger fighter.cotto is a great fighter but its not hard to see that mosely would not only stop cotto but that he is the biggest threat to pbf.

problem is mosley is 35 and would be 36 before the fight even happend.now shane gives mayweather fits for days and its a close fight till the end, but pbf gets the nod in the fight.what happens now, do will praise pbf for beating another great fighter, or say the guy was passed his best and pbf never fights guys in there primes.:huh

if he fights a younger cotto then will he get his due for beating him or will we hear that he was scared of shane.no matter what he does, somebody will always have something to say.

on paper and off shane is the harder fight for pbf to win not cotto.most know that already.but either way he will get a **** load for fighting one and not the other.

hes damned if he do and damned if he dont.id say **** both of them for right now.for yrs cotto nor mosley wanted anything to do with mayweather and even hatton.now that pbf beat odh everyone wants to fight him.id say pbf needs to chill and just let people come after him and fight the guy who can give him the most money and mean something to his legacy.

i use to want to see pbf vs mosley right away
but now i want to see pbf vs hatton and then mosley.
then a tie between cotto and margo
