The jab did not land, he was pushing the air and gloves of Floyd.

when someone says floyd will win based on mosleys fight with mayorga, you slate them... but then you talk about how floyd didnt put his punches together against marquez and you say this is why floyd will lose? i dont understand your point at all to be honest!! Floyd may have a certain style thats always based on defensive boxing, but dont be mistaken in thinking that this means he is one dimentional. There have been fights where floyd hasnt put his punches together and there have been fights where he has, he has always done exactly what needs to be done in his fights. marquez is a great boxer, and floyd knows this so of course hes gonna be wary of him and potshot his way to a UD. He did exactly what needed to be done. Against de la hoya, oscar was a big, strong, dangerous puncher who could potentially hurt floyd so whats the best way for floyd to go about that fight? Trade?... POTSHOT?? exactly!! He did what was needed once again!! Mosley is a big puncher and stronger than floyd so its obvious to say that he will not be looking to get into anything other than a potshot contest with him. The thing im getting at is, floyd doesnt need to put his punches together. he has the movement, defensive skills, stamina and speed to stop him getting hit so he will do only what needs to be done on the night, no more no less!! Atleast thats my opinion anyway!

 

You cannot just use that in the face of facts. If I say the world is round, that doesn't suddenly make it flat.

These stats are probably biased in Oscar's favour too.

 

so why should oscar have won that fight? or if you agree that floyd rightfully won, why do you believe this? :think

Floyd wasn't badly swollen.. though maybe Ocscar did in fact manage to somehow land one punch and that one punch caused this 'swelling'?

 

haha, no chance he won every round. it was a close fight up until about half way through and most of floyds action came in the second half so thinking about it now, maybe floyd was lucky that oscar stopped throwing the jab. or maybe oscar was always gonna fold in the 2nd half and floyd may have thought this too.

 

I created a thread in the GF 3 or maybe 4 years ago about scoing every round in this fight to Mayweather.

At least one, maybe two people agreed and that is just from the few people that would have seen the thread.

BigReg and I think one was Jack Presscot or something similar.

By the end of my thread though, everyone was convinced by my structured arguments and video evidence and agreed with me.

It was a happy day. For boxing. For common sense.
