    > When Floyd Mayweather throws a single shot, if this shot does not land, he goes straight back in his defence...stands off and thinks for abit. He never really follows up on his punches. It's as if, he just dose'nt have the natural ability to throw punches in bunches. Its like watching a NLF match..!!! Its as if Floyd Mayweather is one demensional slightly...!!! this is the technical flaw, that will get him beat up by Shane Mosley.

    > If Shane Mosley misses a single shot, he will still follow up on it..with another 1,2, 3 punches on average...depends.

    > Floyd Mayweathers workrate is ****. He's not gonna be able to exspect to land, pot shots all night against Shane Mosley. And Shane Mosley is not slow, he won't give Mayweather time to think.

    > I think Mayweather combination punching is overrated.

People are over looking Shane Mosley's jab aswell..............

so do you think floyds best chance of winning this fight is to put his punches together and try to beat up mosley?

i think floyds best chance is to just be floyd. if floyd throws one punch and goes back into his shell, then that works better than following up with another 2 punches and staying in range long enough for mosley to throw back.

workrate and combinations are what mosley needs to use, not floyd.

range, guard and handspeed are what floyd needs to win, and he has it all!!

I don't think Floyd Mayweather hits hard enough, and is good enough...with single shots alone, to keep Shane Mosley confused and hestitant for 12 rounds...

Who's to say he can even land, pot shots all night long against Shane Mosley...? Thats why i'm stressing the fact...

That Floyd Mayweather might have to follow up more on his punches...?

    Can he do it..?

Mayweathers not been really good at it, in my opinion...

Just like Brother Nazim Richardson said..

    "He's gonna have to rumble"

it seems your looking at everything from a mosley point of view. floyd doesnt have to hit hard to beat mosley, he just has to hit him more than he gets hit, which everyone knows hes more than capable of doing against every fighter. mosley has a punchers chance but i dont think he will give him the problems that oscar gave him in their fight because i believe oscar was a better boxer than shane. shane isnt exactly hard to hit so i do think floyd will potshot him all night.

I'm in two hearts in this fight....

On Floyd Mayweather's recent performances, Shane Mosley beats Floyd Mayweather 12UD.

But if Floyd Mayweather can improve upon his last performances, throw some combinations, follow up on his punches...? That it can be a different story..!

His right eye started swelling up from the seventh. It wasn't massive, but it was made worse by Oscar's right cross in the ninth I think. Making an argument that Floyd won every round is just ******ed. He lost the second round clearly.

You preferred his work, I rewarded Oscar for actually throwing punches instead of pot-shotting.

    > With a low work rate

    > With not following up on his punches, or throwing combinations

    Lets hope so....lets hope so.

He's technically flawed man, he really is.

I've noticed the way, no one is "voilently disagreeing" with what I'm saying.

People are just replying and saying...

"Hey Floyd Mayweather dose'nt have to follow up on his punches"

"Hey Floyd Mayweather can pot shot and outland almost every opponent"

And then you get people saying..

"Oh he can let his hands go if he wants to, watch some of his fights at 130"

He's not at 130 anymore, he's at 147.......and he has not shown us..the ability and dear i say it, the offensive skill to do what I'm stressing in the past half a ****ing decade.

And in my opinion, he's never been a fluid puncher..!!! he just cannot throw combinations fluid. Its like his brains not got the software to understand after 1,2,3.

I'm sorry if I'm about to come across abit arrogant and egotistical at this present time, but people must understand that "Primadonna Kool Talks boxing"

I've been a fan of Floyd Mayweather for sometime, and ive tried to ignore the fact that, he has this technically flaw. And i think everyone here, is also subconsciously ignoring it.

On May 1st i fear that Shane Mosley is gonna make all you people subconsciously aware.

I hope in a way that Floyd Mayweather can, improve. Because he has too, people need to understand and accept.

What he's been doing of late, is not gonna work this time..!

    Boy gonna have to rumble.!!

You have to assess on a basis of tangibles:

    Height - Mosley
    Reach - Mosley
    Foot speed - Floyd
    Strength and build - Mosley
Speed - Floyd for single shots, Mosley for combinations
    Defence - Floyd
    Offence - Mosley

So, Mosley has a couple of distinct physical advantages. He's bigger, punches harder and has a longer reach (which he uses effectively since his out-fighting skills are decent). He knows how to use these well, but sometimes gives them up when an opponent stands inside with him.

He also happens to be taller. Oscar gave up his height with his textbook stance and hunched shoulders. That allowed Mayweather to rake him with right leads. Mosley doesn't adopt that stance, and uses his height and stand up style better. This also negates Mayweather's sneaky uppercuts.

The power and strength is a major thing here - Shane has to accept he won't land as much as he normally does. He needs to make his shots count - not haymakers, but medium-hard punches that retain their speed and snap. Shane will also need to be strong when Floyd tries to tie him up, and punch as he steps out. I expect Floyd will get off first in these scenarios though.

So, Floyd - well, his single shots are faster. Mosley can't afford to swing wildly or Mayweather will catch him. It might be two jabs, or a 1-2 or a quick hook, but he will catch him.

His footwork will pose Mosley serious problems, because he retreats out of harms way so quick. This forms part of his incredible defence, which allows him to both stand inside and outside and control the action.

But, and here's the big thing, Floyd tends to not throw multiple punches in case he misses. He is a low-output fighter even at his most active. He will retreat into his shell if multiple punches come his way.

But, Shane can be discouraged if he's struggling to find his range or rhythm. Hopefully Nazim will keep him focused.

I pick Shane to win because I think he's motivated, aggressive, effective on the attack, good enough on defence, and is fast enough to negate some of Floyd's defensive skills. But I think it's going to be very very close. Floyd will use movement, sharp punching and countering to keep rounds competitive. I think in the middle rounds he'll cause Shane lots of problems. I think going into the final third there may only be a round in it.

Shane will take over, punching consistently. He'll jab to Mayweather's shoulder and remove his left as an effective weapon. When that right comes across he'll bring his left hook into Mayweather's body to open him up, then force him into a defensive state of mind, where he drops rounds through cautious fighting.

I see the final tally being 7-5, possibly a split decision.

Mosley is not a combination puncher and Floyd has the better offence.

I am not sure how strong Shane's steroids will make him though, you could be right there.

I have always called him Shane 'Single Shot' Mosley.

He actually throws a punch, runs after Marg, throws another shot, runs then throws another with the same hand each time. When Margarito is out on his feet he does actually string genuine combinations together though.

Against a conscious opponent who can box, no combos.

Cotto demonstrates at his best moments how easy this will be for Mayweather.

Moselys worst performances/losses have always been against boxer types. Guys like Marg play into his hands and make him look good. Floyd will win this fight and thats just the way it is.

Mayweather UD or late Stoppage, depends how much Shane loses his rag and wastes his energy the way Oscar did. PBF gets under their skin and makes them fight like a schoolkid having a tantrum then before you know it they're out of steam. Either that or they try and fight a well paced clever fight but Floyd is the master at that and theirs no comparison (as you will see come May 1st ;) )

Thats weak. You don't believe in what you are saying enough. You've said that Floyd has done the same thing through his career yet now you see it possible for him to change his make up as a fighter for one fight, just to beat shane.

Thats your get out clause and for someone who is so adament that Floyd is technically floored- you haven't got the heart to lay your pride on the line- instead opting for a get out clause.

I have lost all respect for you as a poster and as a man.

    GTFO of here. NOW.

Castillo didn't throw a tantrum. he kicked Mayweather's ass. What does Mosley have in common with Castillo? Body attack. Mark it, it'll happen.

You completely over-rate Mayweather and completely under-rate Mosley. It's going to a be a close, probably boring fight.
