no, you're absolutely right, i apologize. training acheives nothing, it's just an "intense" waste of time. only someone handpicked by christ himself could possibly accomplish the feat you mentioned. floyd is obviously more naturally gifted than any other boxer ever. in the history of the sport. period.

Mayweather is not the most naturally gifted boxer ever.

He's very good, but can we please keep a grip on reality, here?

that's exactly the point i was making. having a father and an uncle that started training him from a very young age is (one of the reasons) why he's able to perform at the level that he can, not because he's faster than everybody

Correct. His upbringing along with his vast natural talents make him as good as he as now.

Yo, this is crazy. They discredit floyd anyways possible. Now he is only good as he is b/c of Roger and Papa Floyd..lol. As they all say, the trainer cannot get in the ring with you. I guess If they got a hold of any kid like the other children in the family they would be boxing superstars and p4p the best.

you are floyd. quit being such a cockgrabber man. who said he was only good because of his family? nobody.

but are you saying that roger and floyd snr. had no affect on his development?... of course they did. floyd IS roger and floyd snr.

...lots of gifted boxers in this "era" not just Floyd....Is Floyd maybe the best for a 5 year span? Sure. But you could argue that for alot of people. If Floyd fights and beats Cotto, then we can place him among the all time super elite in everyone's mind. Floyd is going to be one the greats regardless dont get me wrong, but to throw a word like "ever" out there, you can never do enough work to solidify something like that.

I have a very tough time calling his gifts "natural".

Some of the speed and athleticism is, but much of his skills are from spending his life boxing and learning from veteran pro fighters. His reflexes are great, but that is not all natural either. You practice things a lot and they become reflexive. Work on the muscle memory and all.
