Most hardcore fans overrate their favorite fighter. Whether it's Floyd fans, the Pacettes, the Klitites, the Joe. C mafia, and the list goes on. I think the worse though are the Pacettes. I think Pacquiao is a damn good fighter, but nowhere near as good as his huggers make him out to be.

 

Topdog and Unbeatablefloyd take the cake imo. PacDabest in a close 2nd.

 

Most of the die-hard Mayweather fans call him the best fighter in boxing and say he would beat anybody from 140-154. Both are probably the case. He is the best fighter in boxing and he would be favored against anybody in those weight classes. But then you get some fans who call him the best ever and start to say he would beat Hearns and Leonard. That's where he becomes overrated...

And every fighter has fans like that - whether it be Pacquiao, Calzaghe, etc

 

i am one of the most critical floyd posters here but i cant say i feel he is overrated....

He over rates himself in the context off saying he is better then all the other ATG's but I think he is legitimatley a 'great' boxer...no doubt

Floyd has been lucky with the level of opposition he has faced in this era. If he had been fighting in the early 80s it would be a different story!
