    Translation:

Cotto was tougher than I expected but I want you to believe I did it on purpose.

He showed that Cotto had absolutely no answer for the body jab right hook combo, he let Cotto fight his fight and still won 9-10 rounds

if you look at the fight, there are moments where floyd went against his normal fighting style and elected to trade with cotto, or let off a rapid fire combination to the head and body, with the possibility of cotto returning fire, but let's be serious, floyd didn't make that fight a war on purpose. cotto came motivated and with a good, strong gameplan. are you telling me, that at the moment where cotto cornered floyd and hit him with three strong jabs, and floyd attempted to puil off ineffective shoulder rolls, getting hit with all three jabs, flush, that this was all part of his plan? you're a joke if you believe that.

I think he did try and make the fight more exciting. He found out pretty early he could do it. Classic quote from Mayweather. He knows how to get peoples attention.

It was 3 jabs thats all, it shows how much he was toying and had little respect for Cotto's power. Mayweather job was to make Cotto look better than he was for potential future golden boy matches, every time the fight transitioned to the middle of the ring Cotto looked like a fish out of the water

Funny, I'd swear I've read this exact same post before :huh deja vu I guess

Anyway, watching it live, from round one I've been saying that Mayweather is looking to trade, I was quite surprised. I do believe that he planned to go hard on Cotto, probably expected it to go more smoothly though.

ehh, i'm not gonna believe for a second that floyd made cotto look good for the sake of golden boy promotions. that's an unbelievable stretch and there's too much speculation in that assertion. mayweather was hit with way more than 3 jabs. I highlighted that moment as an example of cotto's ability to control the fight during a few moments, as a result of his abilities, and floyd's inability to neutralize him. there were definitely several moments where cotto simply outfought floyd, and I was surprised by that, even in awe.

Cotto had his moments, but Mayweather clearly showed that he could dominated in the middle of the ring if he wanted, makes you think why he fought that type of fight without even trying to spin off the ropes, do you think Mayweather and GB wanted to destroy the #3 ppv, now a Cotto rematch is something they could always fall back on, not to mention potential Ortiz, and Canelo matchups

That is simply what the sport of boxing is about these days, the same reason Manny, didnt go all out on Cotto and Margarito, it is what it is
