Floyd Mayweather Jnr vs Jose Luis Castillo 1?????????

114-112 Mayweather. There days I tend to give him the first 5 rounds, round 9, and round 11. Fifth could certainly go to Castillo, which would make it 113-113 (how I used to score this fight).

There are enough swing rounds where scores of 8-4 either way aren't completely out of the question, but I wouldn't classify a Mayweather decision as a robbery by any stretch of the imagination. Lopsided scoring, perhaps, but not a robbery.

Compubox numbers are meaningless, they are good for casual fans just watching the bout...but they are very much irrelevant when scoring a bout. It is not a computer, they are humans, humans who do not always see the correct angle, who do not always make the correct decision, who have not always been in the ring.

Not once have I agreed with compubox, or brought up compubox numbers to support my scoring of a bout. I may have brought them up in the past just for display, but never to try convince people why a boxer won or lost a decision.

Like I have said, bouts are scored round by round.

Boxer A wins round 1 with 20 landed punches.
Boxer B wins round 2 with 10 landed punches.

Does this mean Boxer A is winning the bout so far? No.

Boxer A loses the bout with 250 landed punches.
Boxer B wins the bout with 170 landed punches.

Does this mean Boxer A should have won? No.
