floyd would really have to open up and stick to what whitaker did. of course, floyd ain't whitaker. he likes to stay on the ropes and pot shot. cesar would put the pressure on him and force floyd to trade with him. julio wasn't known for his right hand, but it was just as good as floyds. meldrick was perhaps faster than floyd was and threw alot more. jcc sd12 mayweather, jr.

Mayweather would not give Chavez any sort of boxing lesson at all.

JCC would get him eventually... the question is whether he would have enough time to do it. PBF could probably stay away and box for 12 rounds, maybe for 15 too. I think overall JCC is the better fighter but it might take him 20 rounds to stop PBF lol.

PBF by points in a stinker where he totally avoids any serious confrontation.

    He wasn't?

Have you ever watched a Chavez fight? JCC cracks HARD with either hand, his straight right was every bit as good as his left hook and he used it with frequency.

Whitaker's jab and ability to fight constantly off the backfoot (neither of which Mayweather posesses, as he relies on different tactics which would put him at greater risk against a fighter like Chavez) are what gave Chavez so much trouble.

Floyd and Whitaker are similar in some ways and different in others.

Both are exceptional at making people miss - Whitaker was more blatant, Floyd very subtle.

Floyd wasn't a potshotter till he got to 147..... Chavez was the ultimate pressure fighter (a sort of better version of Hatton). Ricky gave him pressure for six until Floyd figured him out and stopped him.

Floyd is faster and slicker, but JCC had the power. Nobody really knows how good Floyd's beard is, which tells the story for me.

    Floyd UD.
