Why do people make fun of Floyd for fighting 6 times in 6 years while Ray fought 7 times from 80>87 (8 years) :patsch

    Makes no sense.

Sure Ray's opponents were better but when Manny/Arum is dodging Floyd like the plague, there really isn't much Floyd can do.

Floyd beat everyone he has faced

43 have tried, 43 came up short.

they are the same people who poke **** at him for having layoffs when its a widely known fact mayweather had terrible hand problems (breaking it in most of his fights and once even caused him to get knocked down..... well he dropped his own hand to the canvas, so it was more of a taking a knee..)

if a poster doesent back up his post with knowledge of the sport or atleast the history of the fighter i just dis-regard what they say

So it's the truth, but you have to delve beneath the numbers to see that it's completely different scenario.

Ray fought very few times due to his retirements. And one retirement was due to a detached retina that could've ended his career completely.

Floyd retired just once, and was fighting for almost once a year exclusively.

And then you are wrong, Ray had 9 fights from '80 - '87. He fought Davey Boy Green, Duran and a rematch, Larry Bonds, Ayub Kalule, Hearns, Bruce Finch, Kevin Howard and them Hagler.

Of those nine, there are three names alone that shits on what Floyd fought. these last 6 years.

    /thread.

Actually.. in those 43 fights, 42 have tried meaning 42 have come up short :yep

Just if we're talking facts here.

Leonard fought the best when he did fight. There will always be a black cloud over Mayweather not fighting Pacquaio, no matter who's 'fault' people will claim it was

Leonard's injuries need healing and Floyd's doesnt?

Floyd's body needed time to regenerate. He stated it himself. It would have been very bad if he had kept fighting in 08.

yes i agree. it would be bad for floyd's health if he fought a prime cotto back in 2008 and other WWs when the division was still waxing hot.
