there was also a story that Edner Cherry KO'd Floyd in a night club in Vegas over money, does that mean he ducked him too.. Still doesnt change the fact the only time he was ever offered a contract to fight Margarito he was offered the same money w/out contract extension w/ TR to fight for lineal title... :hi:

That was a very interesting opening post.

To the op, refresh my memory on how he ducked morales and Barrera? I've been watching Mayweather fight since the 90's, and I don't ever remember him being perceived as avoiding either of those guys. They were too small for him, and by 2001 he was having issues making 130 lbs, hence the reason he moved north to LW.

Some of those guys you mention he avoided are speculative at best. I could easily mention him calling out Mosley and Shane mentioning he had a vacation and a dental appointment that was more urgent than facing Floyd. I also remember arum specifically saying Cotto was too green to fight Floyd after Mayweather beat gatti in AC. Funny thing is, I actually rate Cotto at his best at JWW.

Anyway, it's clear you don't like the guy, and personally I don't like the kind of person he is outside of the ring. But you're just devaluing his greatness inside the ring and your argument on him ducking that incredibly long list is somewhat baseless.

I've already said that the ducking of Barrera and Morales was a huge stretch, I always wanted him to fight them, even though they were too small for him, but I think could have happened there's not that much of a size or weight disparity.

Floyd is one of the best fighters to ever lace em up.

He is insanely talented, and has a great work ethic to go with that talent.

I think it's frustrating that someone with his talent missed out on so many fighters.

You gotta laugh at the people who actually thought Pacquiao had any chance.

I think what happened between Pretty Boy and Money is that Floyd fell in love with the money.

the lineal, title please that arguemnetnos such a joke ..How good was the lineal belt holder at the time ? He was nothing more than a journey man who beat the mental midget in Judah ..That win did nothing to elevate his legacy and looked exactly what most of his fights have been a cherry pick ..He had options to either fight Winky or Margarito at the time he chose the less risk of all 3 in Bladimor citing the reason he couldn't fight Margarito was due to injury not some extension with Bob .
