RJJ has said on a couple occasions that Floyd isn’t TBE and Floyd responds by watching old videos of RJJ getting KO’d.

Who do you think was the better fighter in your opinion?

These guys are 50 year old men. You would think they would have better things to do than argue like kids on the internet.

Roy was better, but Floyd is greater
P4p in their prime I'd back Roy to beat Floyd every time

Max put it best. Floyd was the guy who hit 40-50 home runs for 15 years, but Roy was hitting 60 plus in his prime, or something like that

Roy definitely beats floyd if they where in the same class

Roy was the better fighter to watch IMO, he was the boxer who got me into the sport, he was absolutely electric. There's a lot of filler on his resume, but his wins against Toney and Hopkins are just as good as Floyd's best wins. I think Roy was the more naturally gifted fighter, especially offensively, but if we are matching them P4P, I'd give Floyd the nod ahead of Roy.

Floyd isn’t greater because he was a cherry picker fighting guys after they already had losses on their record but didn’t want to know when they were actually hot. Roy went up to heavyweight and won a title there.

Roy just hasn't said Floyd isn't TBE. He's questioned Floyd's heart, his P4P status, mentality, etc. Roy has said a lot about Floyd for at least 10 years at this point. What's strange to me is that Roy is criticizing Floyd for the same things he was criticized for when he fought. Roy likes to portray himself as a fighter who took on all challenges. That if there was anyone who people thought was a challenge, he wanted all the smoke. That wasn't how Roy was viewed though. He was viewed as a fighter who took easy fights. A fighter who avoided the toughest challenges. Even HBO was getting fed up with the level of opposition Roy was fighting at one point. I honestly don't get Roy's issue with Floyd. I get him not having to like Floyd. But why does he always have to mention Floyd when Floyd doesn't say anything about him? I could see if Floyd was disrespecting him. Floyd hasn't spoken about Roy for at least 10 years.

Better is relative. You can say Roy was better because we hadn't seen anything like him before. Never seen a super middleweight/light heavyweight with that kind of speed + power combination. You can say Floyd was better because he was more skilled. I think Roy had the more dominant peak in terms of performance. He was completely dominating and stopping guys while moving up in weight whereas Floyd couldn't maintain that. Floyd had to adjust and dominate in a different way. Floyd sustained his skills for a long period of time though. When we talk about Roy, we talk about how he was essentially the best fighter in the world for almost a decade. The same can be said about Floyd (Floyd sustained his even longer). So it comes down to is better peak value or is it sustained greatness? I think it's fair to mix in both and say Roy was better peak for peak but Floyd had the better overall career.

How do people like Floyd? Dude is a clown. However, Roy is overreacting with the Ali thing. Floyd doesn't think Ali is the greatest boxer and that's ok. All the stuff Roy mentioned has absolutely nothing to do with boxing.
