    Let's see..

He beat the Lineal Champion... and if you want to get really picky..

all the other title holders had lost.

WBO - Margo beat no one of name really until Cintron but then lost to PW.

IBF - Mayweather beat Judah (who had lost to Baldo)

    WBC/Lineal - Mayweather beat Baldo

WBA - Hatton vacated (which Cotto picked up) then lost to Mayweather.

Because when you put the guy back in the 147 division, he ranks in at # 1

Not anymore he dont, he will have to fight Margarito to be the man at 147 simply comming out of retirement isnt going to earn him that ranking thats not how boxing works.
Bottom line is Floyds biggest win is at 154 in a narrow SD single point win over a well aged De La Hoya, he has yet to fight any of the top Welters that have been there for him to fight.
and dont give me that Bob Arum crap the fight can be made if Floyd wants it, irregardless of his issues with Arum infact look at the way Hopkins approached fighting Taylor, he had mad beef with Lou Dibbella and wanted to make it a point to destroy his fighters and hurt Lou in his pocket that my friend is what a champion does, taking risk and hitting the man he hates the most where it hurts.
Floyd just dont have what it takes to do that to Arum as far as Margarito is concerned. Bottom line, Floyd knew this was his time to retire he was backed into a corner it was time for him to put up or shut up and he elected to shut up.

    :rofl

It was time for him to put up? The man put up over 2 million buys in 1 fight, and the next fight he came very close to putting up a million. So put up or shut up...???

Was he the reason for the 2 million buys? I mean lets be honest he fought 2 people that are very popular. Certainly more popular then him.

Hell yeah he was half of the reason for 2 million buys. Just like he and Oscar said, Oscar needed PBF & PBF needed Oscar. And PBF did alot to promote that fight, he did ALOT. So hell yeah he was a reason. Same thing with Hatton, he did ALOT.

so the reason you would put him at number one if he cameback is cause his last fight had a lot of buys ?

Ricky Hatton is not more popular then Floyd Mayweather in the USA, where it counts. 900 HBO American subscribers bought the ppv. But Hatton did have Brad Pitt and Jolie in his corner and console him after he got knocked out. So I would say he carried about 200 K of the american buys Floyd got the other 700 from becoming a star from the 24/7 and the dancing with the stars ****.

What were his PPV numbers in fights that didnt include Hatton, DLH or even Gatti?
