Turned on the TV tonight to watch some hoops and late in the Philadelphia at Miami NBA game, they showed Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Don King sitting together at courtside.

Not sure what the latest is here, if Floyd is playing the "Will he sign with Don King?" game again.

Probably trying to squeeze advice out of King on how to make a fight with emmanuel.

If you guys didn't hear, when Floyd met King earlier this year, they were talking about how King would be able to make "the" fight. According to King, Floyd is getting his AZZ kicked in the media battle, and emmanuel/bob/top rank are running a clever operation. While Floyd is getting backstabbed by the media, emmanuel's schemes let him fight all these chumps for easy millions and "legacy".

They were talking about 4 fights (I presume a JMM rematch or Khan, a Bradley/Berto fight, A Mosley rematch and Finally a Dela hoya rematch) and making lots of money in the process.

By the sound of it, Pac would not be included in that talk because it might derail that 4 fights. Remember the supposedly "100 million dollars" contract?

Nope, he said some pretty gangster **** along the lines of if you want an education they can't give you at harvard, you have to pay tuition.

I would bail if I heard someone say that kind of shady **** to me.

Wrong! He would just be repeating the same thing "Legacy does not pay the bills".

I presume he would say "continue what you are doing but fight twice a year instead of once a year".

Afterall, he was paid more than 20 million against JMM apparently, so what is preventing them from getting the same amount for fighting Khan, Bradley or a rematch with Mosley. Those are sure money makers.:lol:

But secretly, King would be saying to himself "I will Tyson you".

I found it for anyone who hasn't seen it.

    Don King -

"Floyd is definitely losing the PR battle. Bob Arum is so much smarter than these other guys who are involved. He's magnificent man.....these guys aren't smart enough to understand the brilliance of how Arum does business. He already got Margarito signed, sealed and delivered as Pac's next opponent. He's making more money for himself with less risk to his fighter....it's brilliant"

Financially Arum has more interest in making Cotto or MArgo vs Pac. He get's some of both. He get's none of Floyd.

King also mentions his lobster lunch meeting with Floyd. Floyd asked King "how he would make the fight." King told him ".....you want to get an education they can't give you at Harvard Business School, you got to pay tuition"

    Lou DiBella -

"There are alot of factors why this hasn't gotten done.....there's no commissioner or administrative body overseeing the sport so drug testing becomes a negotiation issue rather than an industry issue"

"Maybe Manny is clean, but when you refuse to agree to what the experts say is meaningful testing it raises doubts. I don't know what Mayweather really thinks, but my guess is he believes Manny is dirty because he won't agree to full testing. Because there is no state regulations or blood testing for HGH"

" There's also economic problems. Only so big a number can be done. Even if there's two million PPV buys, when you split it 50-50 it's a problem. Floyd made the lion's share of the money whe he fought Mosley. That's not the case against Pacquaio. If you're getting 80% of 1.4 million PPV buys, 50% of 2.2 million buys is not all that much more"

"Arum can make more money from a Pacquaio v MArgarito fight where he has both sides. His profit margin may be better long term if Manny never fights Floyd"

"Then you add in the hate factor. Al HAymon was part of Mayweather getting away from Arum in the first place. You think Arum wants to deal with Al Haymon, who can be a difficult businessman to deal with? You think Haymon wants to do a deal with Arum? No, they want to WIN the deal, which makes it hard to make the deal"

"It's not out of the question this fight never happens....when neither guys economic survival is dependent on this fight, there's less pressure to make it than people think"

"People say it's irrational not to make this fight. So? This sport is characterised by irrationality. You ever see Lennox Lewis fight Riddick Bowe? Why is this any different?"

Don probably gave him a speech just like he did in his video game.

"Good fights, bad fights... Legendary struggles that should go down in the annals of history. I've seen them all. But that night, I bore witness to the extreme spectaculosity of two titans in the ring."

Arum is a snake slithering in the grass.

This fight will happen eventually but Richard Schaefer is a horrible promoter, I doubt Floyd will be doing business with Golden Boy any longer. Don King knows how to maximize profits and is a criminal mastermind like Arum, Golden Boy has been getting ***** slapped by Arum basically.
