Floyd Mayweather, Jr, has he surpassed the FAB4? Many say yes, what's your take?

You do know that the Fab 4 consists of arguably 2 of the greatest WW's of all time (not named RObinson or Napoles,) one of the greatest MW's of all time and one of the greatest LW's of all time?

I don't think he has a snowball's chance in hell against a MW Hagler or a WW version of Leonard or Hearns. The only guy I could see him having a true 50-50 shot is with Duran, and even that fight I have no idea how it would play out as Duran was a very crafty boxer in his own right with anvils in both hands.

I always look back at his second fight with Leonard and his fight against Benitez at JMW. Those 2 fights and the style both men employed against Roberto leads me to believe Mayweather would stand a very good shot at beating Roberto. But with Duran, you just never know.

Now betwen 126-140 (against guys his ACTUAL size,) I favor very few guys to beat a prime version of a young Floyd, but these guys that are being mentioned are just too much bigger than him naturally outside of Duran.

His legacy falls short of all 4, and isn't even close to Leonard's or Duran's IMO.

H2H, I think fights with Leonard or Duran would be the most interesting, Hearns and Hagler would demolish him.

TBE has great skills but leonard hearns match him speed for speed step for step and exceed his punching power.

Hagler is chino times 4 good chance he gets clipped

Duran i give him 50/50 simply because of style vs style

But my man TBE never fought the epic battles these guys did. and they all lost a few because they put it all on the line.

But it cannot be denied TBE dominated his era with out question.

No. Not a lot of guys can fight 4 definite top of the line H.O.F's let alone 2 of them being ATG's.

Floyd's list of HOF fighters that he's beaten does not compare to who the Fab 4 beat. Floyd is ranked higher than Benitez and Hearns IMO historically, biting my tongue because Hearns would fight anyone and give anyone hell, and Benitez would give Floyd a fight but his resume isn't Floyd's...but even people have a problem with me saying that.

I rank Duran and Sugar higher than Floyd. I rate Floyd around where Hagler is at. Floyd IMO ranks higher than Benitez and Hearns.

H2H he would have done well against them, but I'm not sure it's fair to measure legacy from separate eras - all you can really strive for is being the best of your era. Mayweather accomplished that.

I think you're underrating Hearns here and overrating Hagler. Hagler does have a win over Hearns, but Hearns has the better resume overall that spreads across multiple weight-classes.

How does he rank higher than Hearns? Hearns win over Duran and a prime Virgil Hill at Light Heavyweight is better than anything Floyd has done in his career. Hearns also should of had a win over Leonard in their second fight but was robbed.
