Hearns, Hagler and Leonard beat Floyd.

Duran beats Floyd 8 times out of 10.

Some might have him there, because he was so dominant with a mostly defensive style. But, it's a harder to keep him outside the 20 in most people's minds. And that is already an amazing enough feat, particularly since he was able to retire at just the right time, quite wealthy, still involved in boxing on a promoter/mentorship level, and has retained his faculties. And he is still in demand. He could easily come back for #50 and make another $100 million. Where that combination of circumstances is concerned he is in a class all his own.

I still never understood why FLoyd is always hypothesized in these fantasy matchups with the Fab 4. Outside of Duran, all of those guys are MUCH bigger men than Mayweather. We're talking about 2 very large WW's who are considered top 5 ever in that class and a natural sized MW who also is considered top 5 ever in his division. Floyd didn't even reach the WW division until his 10th year as a pro; it was his 4th weight class at the time.

To put that into its proper context, it would be like asking how would Ray leonard or Thomas Hearns do against Ezzard Charles at LHW? It's nonsenical.

Absolutely not. His record looks great with great
names on it but past their prime. He could have pushed a lot more to push his legacy to another level. He could have able to do it but even Floyd made the choice to play it safe since he's probably scare of failure. He knows his limits.

    Post of the thread IMHO

    Let me add to this.

Stylistically they are just horrible, horrible matchups for him.

Leonard had great speed and movement and frankly I reckon that's PBF's poison. There's a reason he dodged Khan. Hearns is even worse than Leonard because of his ranginess and meteorite of a punch. Duran is the jack of all trades who could box, brawl, work the head or body and imho if Maidana gave PBF problems Duran would put him in hospital. Hagler is stylistically the best match for Floyd, and when you're a midget trying to take on MMH ... you're sol. :deal
