MANILA, Philippines – Manny Pacquiao’s conditioning coach Alex Ariza took a swing at boxing promoter Bob Arum for allegedly preventing the fight between the Filipino boxing icon and archrival Floyd Mayweather Jr. from happening.

Ariza claimed that Arum only wanted Pacquiao to fight Top Rank’s boxers so that Top Rank will get all the profits.

“It’s clear as to why the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight has never happened. It's always about what's best for Bob and his agenda… Whoever Manny fights, he has to fight in-house,” Ariza told Fighthype.com’s Ben Thompson.

Ariza claimed that another reason why Arum is opposing a Mayweather fight because of his hatred towards the unbeaten boxer and his handlers.

Ariza said Arum does not want Mayweather to make a dime out of Pacquiao.

“Arum hates Floyd Mayweather, can't stand him, he doesn't want to see him make a dollar, can't stand Golden Boy, doesn't want to do business with them,” he said.

Pacquiao earlier announced that talks for the Mayweather fight are now ongoing.

He said he sent his adviser, Michael Koncz, to talk to Arum about the superfight.

However, Ariza claimed that Koncz is in cahoots with the boxing promoter.

“I know that Michael Koncz says that he's having a meeting with Bob to negotiate the Mayweather fight. They're having a meeting on how to make sure that this fight doesn't happen. That's what their meeting is about,” said Ariza.

Shiiittt, baffles me how many ******s post in this forum... As always, let me state that I myself dislike Mayweather but I don't let hate blind me. I truly think Mayweather did everything in his hands for the pacquiao fight to happen on May 5. It's something like 80% pacquiao's fault & 20% Arum's. I mean, let's cut the bull****, if roideao really wanted the challenge he would've already signed for the biggest payday of his life!!! Afraid of blood testing??? You bet. Ask Ariza, pacquiao himself or half of Roach's stable of fighters... Why u think Marquez decided to contract Heredia...Hmmmm... AND did so well??? It can't be more obvious. Again, hate and /or fanaticism can blind!

  4. I dislike him AND give him credit. You can hate him all you want (he likes it), you can't deny how infuriatingly skilled and amazing he is at what he does if you've been paying attention to boxing at all in the last 10 years. If you don't agree with this, there is something wrong with your brain and I'm willing to bet you have/had some kind of "inividualized education plan" in school. ;)

A chance?? I know u r not referring to pacquiao then, because we all know he is also the favorite in that fight... maybe u want him to fight the K-bros, maybe back to back same night?? I mean, come on, u gotta give the guy his due props. He's got a more than decent resume AND he is right he won't be able to silence his critics for too long. Case in point, the Mosley fight. I remember most of his critics, specially *******s, claiming Floyd would never take that challenge and that if he did they would give him props. Not only did he took the fight but he outclassed Mosley for most of the fight except for a short period in rd 2. Next day SSM passed from being a legitimate opponent to being old & shot to s**t. Cotto is not even being considered a live opponent already, specially with ppl claiming this fight should've happened 4-5 yrs ago.... Hey, the same time that passed/aged for Cotto, passed for Mayweather as well... conceded, FMJ had a bit of a more relaxed time, but he's a couple yrs older too. That being said, I expect a good scrap............. ANNNNNDDD truly hope Cotto can make the upset and beat the hell out of Mayweather!! Just sayin'.. Anyways, BEST OF LUCKS TO MY MAN COTTOOO!!!

Seriously little man, what the **** are you talking about? I'm speaking in general the people who hate on him and criticizes all his fights, you dislike him why? Just say you're not a fan, you don't like his personality I'm assuming, but this is boxing, not a reality tv show, I judge fighters on their performance in the ring not on their personal lives and there is something wrong with your brain if you don't realize that there are many people who don't appreciate his skills and claim he's boring, can't punch, is a runner etc... And inividualized is not a word you dumb ****...

It's a combat sport for chrissakes. If you can't get any enjoyment out of the "characters" behind the individuals, you're missing out on an integral part of enjoying boxing. You mean to tell me there's no fighter who just irritates the hell out of you? No fighter you want to see get his mouth slapped shut? No guy you root for because he may be the underdog?

If that's the case I feel sorry for you.

Listen, if a fighter is an ******* or a punk in a boxing sense, meaning its boxing related, example Mayorga who talks **** and is disrespectful in the build up to a fight then yea I can see how someone would want to see him ko'ed and he usually is...same for guys like Toney, Ali etc...but when people start to delve into a fighters personal life like they do with Floyd or whoever else I personally don't pay attention to that aspect of a fighters character, I could care less about Floyd gambling, poking security guards, flashing money, not paying his taxes etc. I'm more of an action type of man, I want to see you entertain the fans with your fist, I don't wanna follow you on Twitter to see what you're doing for the weekend...

Just as I'm a fan of football and basketball, at the end of the day I don't care what you do in your personal life I just wanna see you play...
