For those who defy, question and doubt Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s self-proclaimed rule of the world of boxing, this is what he has to say:
"If I leave the sport, its dead."
Just like that. Boxing which has been around for more than a century, will suffer a tragic death once "Money" cashes out- again. Or at least that's what he said on

Perhaps The Rugged Man couldn't have said it best when he replied, "That's silly. Your ego is too big brother,"and also made the statement, "You don't control boxing. You're just one fighter. When you leave the sport still lives on."

Floyd, Floyd, Floyd... When will you ever grow up? You take your ego trip too far man. You're looking more and more like a chip off the old block.
I can already imagine it. Twenty years from now, you'll still be talking smack telling every microphone available that you're the greatest, except that you never had the charm and charisma of Ali.
Actually you simply remind me more of Floyd Mayweather Sr. He too by the way, says he is the greatest trainer of all time. Unfortunately for Ricky Hatton, at some point, he believed it. And his belief, led to one of the most sensational knockouts of all-time- at his expense.

It's almost as sad as those who believe that Mayweather Jr. is now the best pound-for-pound boxer in the game after he defeated the smaller Juan Manuel Marquez. And just as The Rugged Man called it, "that fight was a f**king propaganda stunt to make you (Floyd) look good."
Back to the subject at hand, Floyd is definitely a great fighter.
He is also a draw. He is by far the most popular African-American fighter right now and his people are undoubtedly behind him. With that said, he has also retired before. When he left the game, boxing enjoyed some of it's biggest and most exciting fights especially with the truce between it's top promotional companies Golden Boy and Top Rank. So before we get drawn too far, I just wonder, if Floyd really feels he is as good as he says he is, then why is he really avoiding great fighters? I'm starting to really think that he simply does not have the heart and courage to get in the ring with someone he knows that can truly hurt him.

So I guess he'll opt to argue his way out of trouble rather than risk taking on a loss and getting laid out. But on the argument of his undefeated record, it truly is insignificant. Like RA said, "Floyd, if you ain't fight nobody, nobody is going to beat you!" Last time I checked, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is undefeated too and even has more wins than you. So is he greater than you then?

Floyd's signature fight to date would probably be the Corrales fight in 2002. I just don't see a lot of real challenges in his resume for me to consider him as one of the greatest of all time. Mosley fought them all, and so did Cotto. Don't even get me started at how many future Hall of Famers Manny Pacquiao beat up.

Yes, he is a great fighter, and yes he is a star. But how much longer does boxing have to feed fans his shows which are usually underwhelming and flat out boring? If he is boxing's main attraction, well the main attraction is not attractive and can't even sell out arenas against the biggest Mexican fighter on Mexican Independence day weekend.
As much as he would like to believe the sport would be dead without him, it might actually be better off being the opposite. With UFC and MMA challenging The Sweet Science as the premier fight sport,
boxing needs to put on bigger and more explosive shows that make their audience feel like they got their money's worth, like Pacquiao-Cotto, Mosley-Margarito and Vasquez-Marquez.
Regardless though, boxing will be alright. Even when Pacquiao retires, boxing will continue growing in the Philippines as it will keep thriving in cities like Philly even after Bernard Hopkins hangs up his mitts. The real question is, what would Floyd Mayweather Jr. be without boxing?

RA the Rugged Bum was homeless not too long ago. That alone tells you that he's jealous of the millions Money May has in the bank. Besides, he is so misinformed on dates and fighters that he needs to go back to the drawing board before attempting to go at May. Just another hater in the daily life of May.

I thought Rugged was pretty knowledgeable. I would watch boxing with or without Floyd. I don't reckon he makes or breaks the sport

You guys get worked up too easily, Floyd's just trying to make some headlines. Why is he funding amateur tournaments and helping to train the young members of his family...to prepare fighters for a sport that's not going to exist in 10 years?

I also agree that Rugged sounded like he knows boxing. That was Classic and Im glad someone finally confronted Mayweather on his bull****. Kenny did it but not as blunt as Rugged put it. I dont think Rugged is jealous, hes just calling it how he sees it,along with millions of other boxing fans. I do think Floyd is probably the best Pfp but hes got to prove it! I think hes hoping Cotto wind so that he dont have to fight Manny, I think hed fight Cotto though, and he kind of looked scared when Mosley confronted him. I dont think he wants any part of Sugar Shane. Hell probably call Shane out when Shane starts to show his age.

Floyd disappoints the fans every time he fights. Other than the Hatton, fight - all he's done is ****-talk his way into selling PPV's that made the fans feel ripped off. Casual watchers then turn to MMA because they think it's more exciting.

In a lot of ways, Floyd is doing a disservice to boxing.

He wasn't hating on Floyd. RA said himself when Floyd beat Chico he looked like magic. Just because he told him how he felt doesn't mean that translates into hate. He told Floyd fight the best and shut me the **** up. That's not hating. That's telling another man that claims he's the greatest the truth. Fight someone in your own weight class. Floyd feels he's God's gift to Boxing right? He said he's better than Leonard right? He said he's rich right? He said it no longer was about money, he came back for the love of the sport right? So as the great fighter he is, he should fight somebody that can actually threaten him. And I don't see what RA being homeless before has to do with anything and you sound like an aids dick for bringing that up.

Ok so he was off point with just 2 things, he was on point with everything else. That's why Floyd got so offended because somebody told him off. Look at Boxing right now:

We got the super middleweight tournament.
    Mosley-Berto coming up.
    Dawson-Johnson coming up.
    Cotto-Pacquiao coming up.
Etc. 2010 is probably gonna be better than 09 and it doesn't even need Floyd.
Look at Paul Williams, he fights whoever you tell him within 147-160.

Floyd is only one that seems to have a problem with fighting somebody because their's always an excuse. Either this guy lost to somebody, that guy lost back in the day, this guy was KO'd damn near 15 yrs ago (when he was a kid), this guy has X amount of losses, this guy isn't a pay per view draw. Man get the **** outta here. "ALL ROADS LEAD TO FLOYD MAYWEATHER" MY ASS!!

Yeah thats all anyone seems to write about. Usually hating on him but the more you talk the more you prove that his is important to boxing. Having said that .......boxing wont die when he retires and he knows that. He is just trying to ruffle a few feathers, and ultimatley keep his name as one of the most talked about fighters.
