He retires instead of fights, he fights wrestlers, he has never fought a prime winning welter and I honestly think, as mega talented as he clearly is, and as financially hard up as he is reported to be, that the idea of getting beaten down by Pacquiao shakes him to his core,

No, I don't think Mayweather is a "coward" I just feel silly calling someone that does what he does for a living a coward (except for Margarito for loading his gloves) but I think his ego can't deal with the possibility of getting the crap beat out of himself in the ring, especially by Pacquiao.

I think he will be happier to fight Mathew Hatton, Paulie Malignaggi and than Ricky Hatton and someone else he feels he can comfortably take out. I mean, christ, look at his last fight, freaking Marquez at 145 and then he doesn't even make the weight, Marquez a guy who was not big at 130, a career 126 man, who had some great results at 35 where he debuted in his mid thirties, has to go up to 45 and May ****s him over at the last minute and doesn't even make weight (ok technically they change the contract and buy off marquez but seriously what is marquez going to do? blow the whole thing?) and in a fight he is dominating, May still plays it excruciatingly safe, almost fighting what could be considered a "negative" fight.

Yes, Mayweather is an incredible talent there is no question, but he avoided Mosley, Margo, made Hatton come up to 47 (nobody talks about that when they bash Pac for fighting dlh at 47) and avoided Cotto and all of the real danger at welter. OK, you can say some of them had excuses or did not want to fight May at a certain time, but all of them, all of them truly wanted to fight him at one point or another quite clearly and he never would take the fights.

Mayweather was fighting the riskier fights at 30 / 35 but not now.

Maybe though, if we put ourselves in his shoes, it makes sense.

May and his fam are the biggest *******s in the world because they think he is so damn good he has to be on drugs. Right there, even if Pac is not on drugs, which he isn't, would you fight a guy that you thought was SUPERHUMAN????

I think it is quite possible that he doesn't fight Pac, and yes, that he didn't fight Oscar in a rematch, because, no matter the money, he sees a damn good chance of taking a loss or getting seriously hurt and knocked out.

And he just finds a post loss world unbearable at this point in his life. He has already retired a few times and he sees his post boxing persona, the undefeated greatest boxer of all time, self proclaimed, and him and his dad and two uncles and all ***** Nation can blab about it for here on end.

A KO loss or bad defeat ruins all this.

Yes, he wants to make money. But he can take the long way to 25 million and I think he is happy to do it.

I will be shocked if he fights any seriously risky fight after refusing this fight. He won't really understand how broke he is when he keeps getting these cash injections of 5 mill from fighting easy fights. Then, he will mismanage his cash and probably have to come back again and again.

I hope I am wrong about all of this and that the fight gets made. Part of me, even now still thinks that it will.

It wouldn't matter, they are all engaged in double think and denial. No one likes hearing the truth. I had to step back and look at mayweather when he can in heavy against Marquez and then I realized "you know what? this guy is a piece of ****"
Marquez deserved more respect than that.

Some people love him, some people hate him, but he'll still go down as unbeaten, and in the eyes of most people.....an ATG. Calling him a coward because of this blood test means nothing. Floyd's been called a coward ever since he moved to WW, yet he's still recognized as an ATG. Who's legacy do you really think is going to get hurt more if this fight doesn't happen. Pac or Mayweather? My money is on Pac taking the majority of the fallout and you can bet your ass that Mayweather is gunning for that. The 24 days cut off means nothing. For me there is no valid reason why Pacquiao cant do the tests up to 14 days.

There's no ****ing way you can tell me this guy isn't absolutely terrible for the sport. Publicity is not always good publicity, despite what many may say. All the momentum and hype built up for this fight now washed away, only to be replaced with lingering questions about how poor of a state the sport of boxing is in when fighters walk away from TENS OF MILLIONS for one match. Manny rightfully deserves some blame here as well for being a notoriously difficult in negotiations in his last couple of fights, but those fights were MADE at the end of the day, and they delivered.

We only need to look at the fact Floyd hasn't fought a natural Welterweight champion in over Four years (will be longer after the Hatton Fiasco), to see this guy has been duping the general public (not to mention the posters with extra chromosomes on here) into considering him a true champion.

The brand new or most recent fraud found in boxing today is Manny Pacquiao. The funniest thing to read is that Floyd is scared of PAc when JMM gave him hell, and Floyd beat JMM rather easy. What makes anyone think that Floyd is scared of PAc is beyond me.

Deep down *******s now know that their hero might be found to be a cheat one day, and that you're truly glad that your hero does not have to fight Floyd Mayweather. Since the boxing world did not get a chance to prove that PAc might be a cheat...I now look at PAc as the Mark McGuire of boxing.

Ever since I heard of Evan Fields, every last fighter has been suspect to me now that HGH is undetectable-including Floyd and Abraham...the fighters I like. Since Floyd was willing to step up to take this blood test as well, I commend him on trying to take boxing to another level.

Boxing needs stringent tests now because you can either beat a man with brick handwraps or undetectable drugs. I'm glad Floyd decided to introduce this method of testing to Mr Pacquiao. I've heard every sorry sick excuse in the book as to why PAc doesn't want to be tested. Boxing has longed for this...and we have the technology.

I won't be paying to watch cheats anymore. Shane has been caught using Balco products...but never tested positive I don't believe. Was this fair to Dlh??? Floyd isn't a GBP fighter yet there was some sorry ass correlation as to why Shane did not do a blood test when he fought Dlh...lol. I found that comical.

I detest cheaters... Ask any boxer what they think of cheaters, and you will get emotional answers.

Manny, you are a fraud, and this fan won't watch any more of your fights until you get blood tested. Fraud...!!!

what a shock. floyd didn't want the fight. no other fans (except calzaghe's) have to fight SOOOO hard to defend their guy. doesn't that say something to you? "oh, he just has haters". and why is that then? why do so many hate mayweather? you don't have to try hard to defend pac's resume, oscar's resume, holyfield's resume. but it's a full time job sticking up for mayweather and sorry my friend, you're doing a shitty job of it
