He will be remembered for having a 49-0 record, same as Marciano. He will also be remembered for only fighting in the country where he lives, same as Marciano. Another boxer that will go down in history as a wannabe WORLD champion. All hype.

He's an active fighter and even now if you ask around the world, the majority of people who knows Ali or Tyson by name will just look at you with this face :huh when you mention "Floyd Mayweather". It will only go worse once he retires and only people who are obsessed with statistics will mention him.

I rate him much higher than Rocky Marciano. Unfortunately for the rock, his best wins were against the skeletons of former champions. His best wins were against extremely shot former champions such as Joe Louis, Ezzard Charles and Jersey Joe Walcott.

Had those 3 guys been in their primes, I truly believe they would've been clearly favored against Marciano, especially Louis.

Give it a decade or 2, I'm sure fans and historians of the sport will be viewing FLoyd in a more favorable light. Say whatever you will about how he's transformed his style from his early action packed Pretty boy days to the more calculating, defensive oriented "Money May" version, the guy is a veritable ATG.

4 lineal titles in 5 weight divisions and the simultaneous kingpin at both WW and JMW? He's been doing some things the past few years that are really starting to catapult his legacy and placement in the ATG rankings.

Floyd always chooses and dictates the fight, he only fights in las Vegas. maybe rank lower than Marciano.

Another cry baby who's mad bitter and knows nothing about boxing. Pbf is the best fighter of this era undefeated in three different decades and on the top 10 p4p list since 1998 which has never happened in boxing history. Let that sink in hater.

Marciano was the best fighter in the world head-to-head.

Mythical pound-4-pound matchups don't matter to heavyweights.

He wasn't the best fighter of his era period. Pbf is that's the difference and p4p stuff has been around for decades it didn't start with pbf.

people around the world have no idea who SRR, kilt, Holyfield, Holmes, Liston, Louis, Lewis, Chavez sr, Roy jones, Smoking Joe or SRL are... So? What's your point?

But the entire world watched Mayweather beat an easy opponent in Manny. So obviously he is known.... There's a reason over 5 million ppvs with millions of fight parties,, hundreds of thousands watched in theaters and closed circuits, etc.. He's more popular than manny the ppv stats prove this....

Face it he's known and they watched in real motion not slomo unlike you that watched it in ho.mo :rofl

You are OK with the fact that someone who claims to be TBE is a complete nobody around the world. That was my point, thank you. As you probably know PPV doesn't apply to world, people around the world watch the fight for free, so I'm not sure what PPV proves in this matter, the thread wasn't about Pac anyway. The rest of your post is bragging about the decision bribed Vegas judges spit out, so there's no point refuting it, it's been done on various occasions. You may visit those threads to educate yourself about boxing.

Moore was the likely p4p King when he lost to Marciano. Moore collected wins over the guys who had just beat Kid Gallivan, Sugar Ray, and Charles in Olsen, Maxim, and Johnson.

So when Rocky beat Moore, there was nobody you could argue as being better in that era.

Rocky was Rings fighter of the year 52, 54, and 55. He crushed the p4p King and number 1 HW contender in Moore to seal the deal.
