Thats right, according to resident scholar Bigtime9! His resume which includes Gatti, Corley, and Brusseles has him overtaking every other fighter at that weight with the exception of Arron Pryor. :yep
mayweather has a chint hough. it has nothign to do with this thread but i was just watching his fight against Castillo and in round 7 he took a CLEAN right hand straight on the button and didnt even flinch.
lol even tho it has nothing to do with the thread ur right on that one, after I saw the DLH fight, (he got hit a few times clean on the chin with right hands and didnt even flinch) I know he has a strong beard.
which line of conversation is going to survive and rule this thread? the suspense is no good for my ticker! :scaredas:
I will continue this trend of not talking about the original theme of this thread by agreeing that floyd has all the tools. And a great chin is one of them. Its only a shame for the fans that he usually has no interest in going to war. Because he could put on some robinson v lamota type preformances if he wanted to and if he was matched with the right guys. Here's to hoping Ricky makes it happen. P.S. bigtime's an idiot
****ing thread jackers. In this thread we discuss the genious of bigtime9. Its not often that his sort of scholarship is present on an forum. If you *******s want to talk about Floyds chin make your own damm thread.
So how is floyd better then Kostya Tszyu at 140, comparing resume? If he is judging his assesment on skill alone then it would be more credible, but knowing that bigtime 9 is a racist wanka he most probably has no idea what he is talking about.
Hmm... If you ask whether PBF could stay with the likes of Pryor, Chavez, Barney Ross, Locce, and Loi (my Top 5), then my answer would be "yes". If you're asking whether he should be ranked at 140lbs, then my answer is " of course not". He just didn't do enough at the weight to be ranked on an all-time basis. PBF does indeed have a chin, and I think that will serve him very well in his upcoming fight with Hatton and the winner of Cotto/Mosley (which I think is coming up next for the fighter you know you love to hate.)
PBF could be Top30 at 140, just because he was the #1 contender for a while and was incredible in the toe-to-toe basis. However, I rank Hatton in the Top10 at 140. 1. Julio Cesar Chavez 2. Kostya Tszyu 3. Aaron Pryor 4. Antonio Cervantes 5. Nicolino Locche 6. Barney Ross 7. Ricky Hatton 8. Tony Canzoneri 9. Jack Kid Berg 10. Wilfredo Benitez 11. Duilio Loi
Well its obviously a wrong statement, but it gets less wrong if you take it to mean "best fighter to fight at 140 at some point" not "best fighter while fighting at 140"
Historical rankings are not based on "What if's", they are based on what the fighter ACTUALLY DID. Floyd have been able to defeat some ATG 140ers, but that doesn't rank him because all that is chalked up to is opinion. Floyd's only legit ATG ranking in a weight class is 130. HE didn't have enough fight in any other to warrant a ranking.
