There's always a ton of threads about Mayweahter being a runner. How much weight does this theory hold? Does Mayweather's style reflect that of a runner? Let's take a look at some of his recent fights to see just how much running the Pretty Boy does:

Maweather vs. De La Hoya - Many people will argue vehimately that Floyd ran his ass off in this fight. I just didn't see it. I thought he boxed effectively. When they were in the middle of the ring he worked of the jab and, for the most part, stayed in front of Hoya. Their were many times when he was backed into the ropes. In the beginning of the fight, he would stay on the ropes and allow Hoya to Flail away, towards the later rounds he would dip out of the way and go back to the center of the ring.

Verdict: Mayweather boxed effectively, however a case for running can be made

Mayweather vs. Baldomir - In the first half of the fight Mayweather stood right in front of Baldo. Baldo was too slow and unskilled to hit Floyd even with Floyd right in his face, and Floyd was able to counter him all night. Towards the end of the fight, Floyd started to favor his hand, used alot more movement, and cruised to a UD

Verdict: First half of the fight he boxed, second half a case for running exist

Mayweather vs. Judah- Anyone who argues he ran in this fight either didn't watch the fight or is blind

    Verdict: No running

Mayweather vs. Mitchell: Mayweather backed him up the whole fight and eventually TKO'd him

    Verdict: No running

Mayweather vs. Gatti - No analysis needed, we all know what happened

    Verdict: Absolutely no running

Mayweather vs. Brusseles - Mayweather beat the hell out of him for 8 rounds before the ref stopped the fight.

    Verdict: No running

Mayweather vs. Corely - This fight was actually closer to a brawl than a typical Mayweather boxing match. Mayweather really opened up in this fight and was even criticized by Steward for being too aggressive

    Verdict: No running

    Thoughts?

Superior Boxer. You dont get to 38-0(24kos) fighting the likes of Delahoya,Castillo, Corrales without having superior technical boxing skills.

    Superior boxer.

He didn't ran against Oscar, that is a myth. Only against Baldomir.

Superior Boxer, I agree. Those who call him a runner have not watched many of his fights.

    Superior boxer.

I don't like him but I have a hell of a lot of respect for his boxing ability.

The 'runner' pejorative is pure strawgrasping garbage. You dont ammass a lenthy undefeated record including many formidible foes by being purely a 'runner'. People call Floyd a 'runner' because they need *some* reason to criticize him for their own personal reasons. Floyd is an incredible boxer, anyone who says otherwize is not worhy of adult attention.

Hmmmmm strange i havn't seen no haters com in here calling Mayweather a runner yet :huh. But IMO he is just a Superior boxer to everyone he's faced BUT a case can be made about him running in the Baldomir fight although Floyd was the much superior boxer anyways.

As much as I find his style of a boring one, he is a superior boxer.

He did run in two fights in my view, both the Baldo and DLH (less than above though), and both fights were absolutely terrible to watch.
