To stop Pac he'd have to 'get into the trenches', and if he tried that he would have his world rocked. You fight Pac in the phone-booth, and I don't care who you are, he's going to give you some bombs. Floyd, to his credit, has proven he can take shots, and he's proven himself as a genuinely good infighter (although he's obviously better from range, picking people apart) but I can't see him stopping Pac. That shot Corley hit him with...if that had been Pac, Floyd would never have been given the chance to recover. (Pac can be sloppy and can be outboxed, but once he senses blood he's deadly.)

Yes, I'm sure you can't. Most people can't. Pacquiao would be getting hit with pull-counters and counter checks that would blast that pumpkin head of his. If you think Cotto, shot De La Hoya, and Hatton = Mayweather you're in for a rude awakening, bud. Don't miss the point. All you see is "stop Pacquiao." Pacquiao would force Mayweather to stop him. Keyword; force. Theme of the thread; Floyd's brawling.

    HELLO?

I've never once stated that Cotto/Hoya/Hatton are on Floyd's level. (Although I do believe that a prime Hoya could very well have beaten him.) Pac would indeed be getting hit with counters, but I think he would take them surprisingly well. I think he would 'force' Mayweather to FIGHT him, at least at some points, but not necessarily force him to 'stop' him. Floyd has shown that he can fight up close, in the pocket and such, but he doesn't have the same pop he had at the lower weights, and his hands are also brittle, and won't be improving with age.

Floyd would be the favourite, but the more 'brawling' he does, the more dangerous it is for him. Every time Pac forces him to stand and fight, it's in his best interests to only throw one or two punches before trying to tie Pac up, or push that trademark forearm out to stop him. All Floyd needs to do is use constant motion, more jabs than he usually does, and a focus on the straight-right. Whenever Pac corners him or makes him fight, he'll probably just duck/tangle things up/clinch, as he did with Hatton, forcing a ref to break them up. Brawling with Pac is idiotic, unless you have the firepower/style to get away with it. It would be akin to the mistake from Leonard's first fight with Duran -- why brawl when you can outbox?

    WOW.

I had never considered before that Floyd out-brawled proven world-class Philip N'Dou and proven world-class DeMarcus Chop-Chop.

This video has really opened my eyes. Floyd might be the greatest brawler this sport has seen for a long, long time.

Here's hoping he uses this sensational brawling ability against Shane Mosley...

So people do realize around here what would happen if Mayweather stays right there and bends his body forward in order to hurt Shane? Judah was too small and too weak even tho he had great flurry handspeed and some power to go along with it... The moment Judah held his punches, Mayweather pressed him back, walked him down, Cotto did much worse to Judah, even Clottey beat Judah punch by punch. So Wright, Forrest and Cotto outhought Shane? I guess that they had the physical attributes to make him look like "outhought"! Let's see how Floyd's gonna outhink Shane, stepping back and throwing left hooks and right hands... I always have felt that if you step in with your punches, you always gonna overpower someone who's stepping back and the bottom line is that they're fighting with equal handspeed, not playing some high speed checkers.

Yes both wright and forrest out thought shane. shane was defiantly stronger then the late Forrest, but forrest was able to beat Shane with his jab and stepping over to his right and launching that right hand every time shane plowed forward, true he used his reach advantage but a majority of what he did to beat shane was just out smart him.. second shane has been a fighter who has gotten by on his physical attributes, speed and physical strength. when he does not have the advantage in any of these area, again he look ordinary, look at his fight with winky wright.

A Correction on your statement that Floyd just moves backwards, floyd does not just move backward just to move backward, and most or the time he's moving back at an angle and he setup traps..

Nice work from Floyd, but Ndou doesnt have the speed, power, footwork, chin, and combination punching that Shane has. I think in one of Shane's best performances he's gonna get robbed of an SD in Floyd's favor. Just like Castillo got robbed. Mayweather-Pacquiao too big of a fight not to happen. Too much money involved.

I know, if he did he would be more exciting but he would increase his chances of losing...
