take this point to any other sport , football , basketball and soccer , is a team that is undefeated , but clearly played in a lower league than the best teams , would this mean they are the greatest of all time ?

 

He is handicapped by brittle hands, a safety first attitude and a predisposition towards paths of least resistance.

There seem to be two planes upon which Mayweather's place on an ATG list is debated. One is resume-wise, and the other is ability-wise. Resume-wise, he surely cannot be considered the greatest of all time. Both of the fighters that he derided in that diatribe had fuller, better resumes than he has.

And ability-wise - although this is where most Mayweather fans find solace - I still find it difficult to consider him the greatest of all time because he has weaknesses there too. His strength is obviously his defence but he is by no means unhittable. Is his defence better than Pea's? Pep's? Benitez'? Debatable, sure. However offensively he is often found lacking. Against DLH in particular he exposed himself for often having difficulty finding an offensive opening and creating a shot for himself.

I really can't consider him the greatest given what he has done with his decade+ in the sport. And the issue with him is that he never really tried to prove it. His belief is based on a million hypotheticals that he never tried to back with evidence.

 

The greatest fighters of all time all beat the greatest fighters of their time. Mayweather can't say he beat the best current fighters.

 

This vid now has me in a dilemma about who i want to win in March, what a fud PBF truly is.

 

This is why I wish I was wrong about Mayweather being very unlikely for Pac to beat. Because I'd love to use this logic on him and say "Leonard got beaten by a lightweight, you got beaten by a flyweight who lost to Torrecampo." Then watch him break down in tears and threaten to retire again.

 

How many PPV's did that wrestlemania sell? I'm fairly certain it didn't do as well as hoped.

I'm really surprised the interviewer mentioned Jack Johnson second, weird.

The fight with Pac is make or break. Whoever wins can be argued to be one of the best fighters of this generation if not all time.
