Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. a prime Marlon Starling

Starling probably takes it close. Another guy I think Would have been a horrible style matchup for Floyd would have been Mark Breland.

 

Mayweather by decision, although a hard fought decision. Starling to my memory beat Floyd Mayweather Sr., twice by decision before Floyd Sr., retired from boxing altogether. Marlon had that crab like defensive style, a welterweight version of Ken Norton at best. Eddie Futch, Norton's trainer, trained Starling for a bit as well. I personally don't know why anyone would think of promoting such a fight("Money"Mayweather Jr vs Starling). Sugar Ray Leonard vs Marlon "The Magic Man" Starling in comparison is a slightly better fight although I wouldn't be too quick to promo that one unless all options for my man Ray were completely and properly weighed and a slightly better fight from a promo perspective for Floyd would be against Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whittaker, although I wouldn't be too quick on the promo draw for that one.

 

Starling who lost to Curry twice and got stopped and was shown the video and still argued that he was not stopped. He would lose a decision to PBF and claim he still won. He was just an okay fighter and champion. I don't think he would have posed any danger to PBF if they had met in the ring.

 

Floyd at 147 is underrated. He's great at the weight. Size isn't everything. He's extremely smart,fast,skillful and hard to hit. He beats Starling clearly on points.
