I am one of if not the biggest Nelson Phans on this forum....My wife used to hate that my kids would run around the house chanting Zuma every time I would watch one his fights... But this would not be good for him...It would be slightly more competitive than Whitikar vs Nelson due to the fact that Nelson would be in his prime age and weight for this one...but only slighly...PVF should take a comfortable 8-4 decision. Not much I can see that Nelson would do to change that.
I don't think Mayweather was at his best at 130...But I saw Nelson get his ass kicked by Azabache martinez in their first fight at 130. I won't call this one... But I'll say that I think Nelson is way overrated, and upon that rests a ton of the Sanchez legacy. He was a good fighter, very good and make no mistake he fought the best around, and, in person, he was the supreme gentleman. But I don't think he was "great", whatever that term means these days. At 130, both chavez and Arguello would have beaten him. I don't really know how to place Mayweather at that weight; he beat Corrales, but so what?
I think it's a pretty bad fight for Azumah. He wouldn't be out of his depth or anything, but he'd lose pretty wide.
By whom??? I don't see anyone calling him an ATG, but I think he is fairly recognized and/or rated for the most part....Not sure what there is to pick holes in either??? From 82-94 he was the best FW/SFW in the world only losing to Sanchez & Whitaker (@ LW), Then recaptured the belt post prime avenging a defeat to Leija...Not sure I understand the overrated thing?
