Picked Lara by stoppage by mistake. But yeah he'd win a decision. Too clever and slick for Floyd

Lara is a new boogey man yet make the fight and Floyd wins a decision you'll get that was as boring as watching paint be poured into a tin! LOL it only sold 100,000 PPV's. 'Mayweather ducked Brook/Thurman/Khan/Golovkin/Garcia' for a feather fisted technician he was bound to beat comfortably.
Make another fight and 'Floyd has never fought someone like Lara, he doesn't want any of him!' and completely ignore the obvious zero sales potential and how Lara lost his big fight against Alvarez by being boring and actually running much of the fight.

It is impossible for Floyd to beat Lara legitimately

floyd wasn't in the right mental frame in the first maidana fight, if you didn't notice... floyd did not use that lateral movement and just stayed in the pocket with maidana in the first fight. the second fight was a masterclass though

I think that he would make things interesting against Floyd - reasons being...

    1. Southpaw
    2. Bigger man, longer reach
    3. Stiffer puncher
    4. Great accuracy and ring IQ (similar to Floyds level)
    5. PLUS, and this is a key factor I think in a Mayweather fight, it is one of the first times that Floyd will have fought someone at the top level that is not concerned with 'making the fight'. Lara will not care if the crowd become restless - his amateur schooling will over-ride that and make sure that he sticks to his gameplan and not go chasing against the greatest counterpuncher in the world. A good southpaw boxer, with a range advantage, boxing an even and measured fight...

For this reason, I see it as an interesting challenge for Floyd.

Can he beat him? Who knows. But he certainly presents a new conundrum for him.

Floyd "one punch at a time" Mayweather would lose to Lara clearly. Lara has too much reach and a nice straight left hand. Floyd won't beat Lara at point fighting, and he doesn't really attack anymore. He would be outboxed. If Pac's straight left was blowing Floyd's face up, what do you think Lara, with his longer reach would be doing?

Floyds hands are still faster than lara's at this point. Add in his footwork is superior.

Some of you all need to remove your heads from Mayweather's ****. There is no way in hell, the Floyd that was getting touched up by Manny Pacquiao, a few weeks ago, would not get outboxed by Lara. Lara has boxing ability and reach on Floyd. Floyd throws one punch at a time. With fair judges, Floyd wouldn't beat Lara point fighting. He would have to try and come in, and we know that **** ain't happening. Lara has better legs than Floyd at this stage of their careers. It would be a boring but clear Lara decision, with that straight left hand cracking Floyd's grill a bit more frequently than Pacquiaos did.

    Wow. Those are bold statements.

I'd be rooting for Lara, but I don't know about favoring him all that heavily even over an increasingly stuck-in-quicksand Floyd (who's fighting against the decline of his legs and prolonging their use more effectively than did, say, Cory Spinks and Ivan Calderon, but still)
