Quartey is not as great as some on here make him out to be. He almost never moves his upper body and would give a great target for Mayweather's counters, especially later in the fight. If Oba Carr held his own with Quartey then Mayweather can surely beat him. Mayweather by UD.

Quartey's constant laser jab, steady pressure, and tight defense would give Floyd hell. Quartey by UD.

He moves his upper body about as much as Winky, does that mean Floyd would beat Winky as well? Both Winky and Ike had piston jabs that they fired off consistently and efficently, and were backed by their tight, shell defense which would deter a smaller fighter like Floyd from landing many accurate counters. We saw how old DLH's jab did Floyd in the early rounds. Imagine a better, more consistent one with Ike. Mayweather doesn't have much going for him in this matchup.

As far as Carr, watch the fight with both eyes open next time. Ike handled him, the first two judges got it right, the chump who scored it a draw needs to find a new job.

delahoya's defence is better than ike's though. And i personally think it was oscar blocking floyd's lead left hooks more than his jab that was messin floyd up in the early parts. I was surprised by oscar's defence that night actually.

De La Hoya's defense is not better than Ike's normally, only when Ike is looking to get brave and trade blows. Is his defense better than Winky's because Winky once dropped his hands against Shane also? No. Quartey's defensive guard was normally completely solid.

Was that neccessary on any level? Apart from the fact that I disected your post, rendering it worthless, which puts it on the same level you're at as an overall poster.

It was necessary because you are not just stating your opinion but trying to disrespect. You didn't disect anything, you are just full of your self and think that you opinion is more valid because you post more than others.

Classic Arnie line that one is!

As for how this fight would unfold, I don`t see anything in Floyd`s repertoire that would lead me to believe he can even be competitive let alone win a fight against a significantly larger opponent such as Ike Quartey who was also a damn good fighter in his own right. He has that fabulous jab which he was very accurate with, was tough as nails which means Floyd can`t hurt him, and when he actually bothered to train properly he was also a pretty active guy in terms of punches thrown per round.

Floyd won`t be able to potshot his way to victory here, as he Ike will keep pumping that jab towards him all night long and he will double even triple up on it thus not allowing Floyd the time to execute the way he would like. If an old DLH was able to offset Floyd`s rythm in the early going with his jab, I see Ike taking the play away from him altogether for most of the night. Floyd would go the distance and only win the rounds that Ike decides to take off, and that is as good as it is gonna get for him in this matchup.
