Chavez was tough, but everytime he stepped up he didn't really impress me. The Meldrick Taylor fight was his crowning acheivement & even then you have to look at that with a side eye view... Obviously the Sweet Pea fight was a robbery. I do like his wins over R. Mayweather.. He was a good fighter, one of the best that Mexico has produced, but he's like Canelo to me.. A heavily padded record, but he's good enough to demolish low level fighters & give top ones a good run. Instead of him being 87-0 when he fought Sweetpea, I would had rather him been 30-0 and actually fought some decent comp. To take it even futher, who would win between him & Floyd? FM 8-4 UD..

Hernandez, Manfredy, Castillo, Corrales, Judah, Corley, Baldomir, Hatton, Mosley, Cotto, Ortiz, Guerrero(legacy fight in my opinion, this will really show before Guerrero's career is over with), Marquez, Gatti. Mayweather for me but Chavez is an ATG and a great fighter can't knock it, but Mayweather will rank ahead of him before it's all said and done!

Voted Chavez not for notables, but for dominance, reign, length, and other qualities.

Mayweather has fought more future HOF'ers though. Doesn't mean he has a better resume though since he beat most of those guys WELL past their primes

Chavez fought a LOT of tomato cans throughout his career. This can't be argued; I think his first notable fight was against Mayweather when Chavez already had around 40 pro fights under his belt and no one had even heard of him in the States outside of SW Texas.

He was a dominant champion though and as tough as they come, but he had questionable wins against big time opponents (the sweetpea fight was pretty much a robbery,) and he did get beaten up a good deal in his later years. FLoyd is currently in his later years and looks as dominant as he did when he was 25. Only thing going against Floyd is his lack of activity since the De La Hoya fight.

And if they met at 140, I'd heavily favor FLoyd in that matchup.
