Whitaker normally a boxer took the fight to Chavez and beat him. Mayweather normally takes the fight to his oppoents. He's a lot less of a back foot boxer than people seeme to think. He takes Chavez by surprise. Most Mayweather oppoents prepare for Whitaker when they fight him. Chavez will be no diffrent. Mayweather beats the unprepared Chavez over 12 rounds.

Floyd at 135 or 140 was a much different fighter than his campaigns at 47 and 54. He was a helluva offensive fighter in the lower weights, had excellent power in both hands and showed sublime combination punching ability, something he does less frequently now. He also had incredible defensive abilities and his handspeed might've been a tad quicker than it is currently.

I'd say a wide UD for FLoyd or possibly a late stoppage. Floyd was a pretty aggressive offensive fighter in the lower weights and I think he'd have his way for the most part with Chavez, who was a pretty easy target to hit.

Is this really a match-up? ****, I thought it was a troll attempt. Horrible mismatch; Chavez KO's Drainweather.

Don't forget, though Floyd started at a smaller weight class, so he will attach a catchweight of 137 or so to the fight. Just to make sure that Chavez is drained and gives Floyd some advantage.

Floyd never came close to fighting anyone of Prime Chavez caliber.

That potshot, hug and run style would get him stopped by Chavez.

The only thing Castillo and Chavez had in common was that they were both small and Mexican. They weren't even all that similar, stylistically speaking.

Whi did Chavez beat that was of Floyds level? The 100 wins against tijuana cab drivers? His lucky win against Taylor? Getting blown out by Whitaker

    Or perhaps Haugen?

Augustus cornered him, Castillo cornered him, Cotto cornered him, DLH cornered him, Jesus Chavez cornered him, Hatton cornered him.

WTF do you think is going to happen with a prime JCC? He's not going to be following him around the ring, Floyd is no Whitker in the center. Once the fight ends up on the inside, well, you can figure out what happens. (Hint: It's not Mayweather by KO.)

One of chavez best wins is a fight where he was getting his ass beat the entire fight and needed to be bailed out by a ref. Jesus christ a prime floyd would be a nightmare for him. Subtract the 80+ bums on his record qnd his accomplishments won't be held so highly.

    Floyd by UD.

He was a sparring partner of JCC's when he was young..He idolised Chavez and did try to model his style on him.

You can see he has attempted to but it's a less polished version thats for sure..Plus he doesn't have Julio's natural defensive radar and chin. Castillo sort of tried to make up the difference by cutting huge amounts of weight and gorilla dawging his opponents.

What makes u think Floyd will keep it on the inside? This will be another stick n move victory and if things get too rough, he'll clinch for a break then it's back to business.

A fighter like Chavez will eventually close the distance and when he does mayweather is in trouble.
