As much as you gents would like to use Pernell as a the standard for why Mayweather wouldn't beat Chavez, you can't. Two totally different fighters. Mayweather is a better fighter than Pernell and would absolutely beat the brakes off Chavez. Chavez was pretty basic and you can't win by being basic against Mayweather. Chavez was a terror for the fighters of his era but Mayweather is a cut above that. Easy Money.

 

Floyd better than sweat pea, really?He's a good fighter & one of the best to ever do it but pernell,duran,chavez would have made a killing in this weak ass era.Put it this way if they had floyds carefully managed resume they'd be undefeated as well & have more KO's.Chavez isn't a basic fighter by any means,Floyd is 10000-0 in fantasy match ups against any other atg's good for him.

 

too close of a fight but id go with Chavez. could even end up a draw though. Mayweather has never seen a come forward fighter with Chavez's defense, Chavez inside game might come second only to Durans. then you have mayweather who at that weight could move and punch hard whoever is saying wide UD or Ko in favor of either fighter is wrong

 

Man, it amazes me at how many people make Floyd the bum of the ATGs. It's a wonder anyone would expect to get significant credit for beating Floyd.
