Over 135 Floyd wins by decision. Chavez didn't have the speed to hang with Floyd. At 135 Chavez has the total package to beat Floyd even more clearer than Castillo did. But Floyd isn't Taylor I think Floyd is the smarter, not better, fighter than Taylor was. Plainly 135 Chavez wins, over 135 it's all Floyd.

A fight between them at 130 would be a very entertaining bout me thinks.

Yeah I call a bit of bull**** on that aswell.

Mayweather kept claiming a torn rotator cuff right after the fight...but interviews later on from him and his team use words like strained or pulled. Even just saying it was an injured shoulder, and making no mention of a specific issue.

The rematch was penciled in for early August initially...problems with the venue and a Castillo injury is what pushed it back, not Mayweather asking for more recovery time. Seems like a pretty quick turnaround from a fight in late April if he really was that hurt.

My understanding of that injury is that it requires quite a bit of recovery time if it was as serious as Mayweather was saying. Look at Vernon Forrest and Lacy for examples of fighters who had torn rotator cuffs.

Floyd wins this fight by a huge margin. Styles make fights and Mayweather is all wrong for Chavez.

For starters this is just silly thread. If Mayweather Jr. has avoided major adversaries since leaving 30-35, what makes anyone think he would actually put his ass on the line against the Lion from Culiacan? Whether he was scared, was making business decisions, etc...he has only himself to blame with everyone except his most ardent supporters as to why he isn't thought of so highly. When you fight fighters like Gatti, Judah, and Baldomir instead of Cotto, Margarito, Clottey, Williams or a younger Mosley then of course people are going to question his place in history.

Either way, I would pick a prime Chavez over a prime Mayweather Jr. any day of the week. People have seen what a poor man's Chavez version (Castillo) has done to Mayweather Jr. and we have seen Chavez whip on Mayweather Jr.'s prototype (Roger Mayweather). Mayweather may manage to win a few early rounds, but Chavez is in a different league than Jr. Chavez by TKO or a Lonnie Smith type of UD.
