Who would have won? I don't see any way Thurman can win, outside of a puncher's chance. He's not outboxing Floyd. Not in this, or any other lifetime.
It’s hard to pick against Floyd, with any match. I can’t see what Thurman brings to beat Floyd. That’s not showing Thurman disrespect, I think Thurman is a great fighter, but Floyd is a one off imo. We won’t see another Floyd for a long, long time.
Pac destroyed Cotto, Hatton, and had Mosley running for dear life for 12 rounds. Devon Alexander schooled and shut out Maidana.
Cotto at catchweight following his beating from Marg Hatton post Floyd and no longer the felling of invincibility being undefeated, also new trainer Floyd got abuse for fighting old man Shane while he was champ, but Pacquiao fought an even older version lol Oh I noticed you never mentioned another common opponent in Marquez, wonder why? Lol I actually like both guys unlike you. Pacquiao took more risks. Therefore, he leaves behind a greater legacy imo, but it's close. Floyd's achieved so much himself But it's not close on who is the better fighter. Floyd isn't TBE, but he was the best of the era and certainly better than Manny
At the point where the fight made a lot of sense, when Floyd fought Berto, it would have been an interesting fight. I actually wished he fought Porter at that time right when Porter beat Broner by a near shut out and called out Floyd. I dont think Porter would win but I think he would have given a solid effort. For me Thurman is talented and has a lot of good traits at his disposal but Floyd is Floyd and though he was past his best I think he still has enough to win a 116-112 type of decision. Pacquiao was able to pick him apart in stretches but just ran out of steam down the stretch and allowed the fight to get close. i think in typical floyd fashion he would gain control and maintain control could be the opposite of the pacquiao fight where thurman comes out with success but gets washed down the stretch
The thing is ancient Pac had enough firepower to take a lot of the fight out of Thurman in the early and middle rounds and still win even though he faded pretty badly. Could Floyd put that kind of a dent in Thurman? If not, Thurman will be strong for 12 full rounds. All we know is that Floyd never acknowledged Thurman's existence and wanted none of One Time — not even once.
Pacquiao and Mayweather won their fights differently. Whereas Pacquiao had the fire power and explosiveness to grind Thurman. Mayweather would take the jab away from Thurman and make him very uncomfortable. While Floyd didnt rock his opponents often he had the accuracy to get respect and made guys miss enough to get gun shy. I think Thurman is a good fighter, good enough to beat danny garcia comfortably and win a war vs Porter. I think he did pretty good against Pacquiao all **** talk aside as a lot of people were happy to see him lose and **** talk Thurman for various reasons. ITs a shame he has let his career flame out
I think Floyd takes a tumble in this one or definitely a big wobble against prime flute playing Keithy. He won't like that slickness, speed, size and power of Keithy's even though he's the better fighter of the two.
