Obviously, you are as uneduated with weight cutting.

You can not infuse any fluids to an person who is not drained otherwise you kill him.

For a person who normally walks at 158, and fighting at 147, that means that he has to lose 11 pounds of fats and body fluids in order tocome in at 147. And fighters do it by limiting calorie intake, and prior to the weigh-in, fluid intake. That is a weight-drained person, and the difference is in the degree they drain themselves.

After weigh-in, they regain that weight by intake of fluids. That has no relevance to the weight0-drained concept, which is actually what your stand is.

The weight drain thing is the state prior to the weigh-in, not after rehydrating. A person might regain 20 pounds, which basically tells us the extent by which he was weight-cutting.

Now when a person is not able to put on weight after weigh-in, there are only two possible scenario :

    1. He was never weight-drained thus he can not take in liquids.

    2. He faied to rehydrate and came to fight dehydrated (unlikely unless you are an idiot)

You can not add liquids to a person who is well hydrated because if would disrupt the hemodynamics of circulaotry system, literrally would kill a person (people had dies when a mineral water company had a contest on how many bottled water someone could take).

Take Hoya's case : Hoya was already at weight 2 weeks prior to the fight, which tells us that he is stupid if he dehydrates himself during weigh in unless he wants to come in 135 in a 147 fight. But the problem is that he can not rehydrate as well to say 160 because he is not dehydrated in the first place. He essentially lost muscle mass, not body fluid.
