I'd wager to bet that De La Hoya, Hatton, and Mosley hit Mayweather more or "Tagged" him :rofl more then Ortiz did. I'd say that Ortiz landed was in the first 4 rounds was usual for Floyd opponents and Floyd's success in the first 4 roudns was better then usual.

But carry on son. The more you type, the more its proven, YDKSAB.

Plus isn't Ortiz a front runner who's very dangerous in the first 4 rounds? Where do most of his knockdowns occur?

    Mayweather broke Ortiz knockdown streak

what Mayweather once again proved in the Ortiz fight is that he can start early and sweep the rounds, easy work southpaws, and is great at dirty fighting

I should have known it was gonna’ be hard to clarify things for you. I mean, you find it difficult to grasp the meaning of “floored”, for God’s sake. Seriously, what ****ing hope in life do you have?

Anyway, in my two posts I’ve mentioned and clearly referred to the sequence of Ortiz backing Floyd up before the headbutt. Please go back and read them again, because it’s that which I’m talking about - Ortiz successfully landing four clean power-punches in just one burst of attack. I must also mention that he achieved a similar thing a minute or so prior to that incident too, if I remember correctly (landing a good shot to back Floyd up against the ropes, before digging a few more shots that crept through). So, I’m mainly focusing on this part of the fight because that’s when things were beginning to heat up. The earlier periods saw a reserved Ortiz opting to box and move more in a pretty uneventful fight. The amount of shots compubox (which bull****, by the way) had him landing during this time, is not of much importance to me (although I will say, Ortiz done ok to land the few that he did). So again, I’m talking about the part before the headbutt.

Now, none of those fighters that you mention – Oscar, Hatton and Mosley – land more than one decent power-punch in a single launched combination/attack, in the first four rounds, like Ortiz did.

    • Oscar found success with his jab, but when he would flurry and launch aggressive attacks up top, he would never land more than one punch. At a stretch, maybe two grazing shots get through, barely. They would either hit the shoulder, a blocking glove, or the thin air above a ducking Floyd head.
    • Mosley, in the first four rounds, just had those two single right-hands on separate occasions in round two. None of those were in midst of flurries/combos that were landing. Nor did he even land anything significant during those moments when Floyd was hurt . I mean, surely that would be the best opportunity to get in a series of punches in a short span of time, would it not? But even then, Floyd blocked and nullified the attacks. That's how good his defence is, and that's how rare it is to get a decent series of shots through in a single attack. And I don’t remember Mosley managing to land anything for the remainder of the fight, either.
    • Hatton just simply piled on pressure and made Floyd move more than he was use to. That’s all. I don’t remember him landing anything significant up top. Not by single shots, nor by combinations. He didn’t find a home for his punches the way Ortiz did in the final moments of his fight.
Which goes back to what I said in my earlier posts. Floyd, in that last round, and in particular that incident before the headbutt, seemed to be getting tagged more than he usually does. As already mentioned, we rarely see him get hit with one punch in a single attack, never mind four.

And this is where you're stupidity shines through. Ortiz didnt land 4 punches

How many clean punches do you see Ortiz land here ****? 1 or maybe 2 at the most. The rest are clearly blocked with Mayweather laughing at Ortiz and Ortiz getting clearly fustrated?

How about the second attack right before the head butt?

Once again. Ortiz lands 1 maybe 2 clean punches, the rest are blocked or rolled by Mayweather, with the end Mayweather puts both of his gloves on Ortiz' shoulders clearly taunting Ortiz, which probably caused ortiz to get frustrated and foul.

    :lol::patsch

Boy Ortiz was really ripping Mayweather wasnt he. He was getting Tagged Bro. Absolutely Tagged bra. :rofl
And the same happened in the instances you try to reference. Ortiz landed 1 maybe 2 punches, the rest were smothered or blocked. However I dont remember Floyd ever being comfortable enough to put his hands on Oscar's shoulders and taunt him for his inability to hit him. Floyd was on guard in that fight and didnt start to clown until late in the fight when Oscar slowed down. Mayweather was landing at will against Ortiz. Playing around, and throwing combinations because he felt comfortable doing so.

You can see in Mayweather's face it was a much tougher affair.

You see im always wary of people that say things like "If I recall" when trying to argue a point. It means you arent sure and in that case you should keep your dumbass out of conversations you have no business in. :thumbsup
