Mayweather by stoppage if he is as aggressive as he was against Ortiz, or Mayweather by UD if he chooses to box his head off.

Some of us have waited since late 2005 for this.. I'm so glad this is happening when both fighters are at their best.

This will be very competitive early on.. Going with my gut, and the first outcome that I came to..

    Mayweather late TKO :thumbsup

Back when this fight was first being discussed as a serious possibilty (around 2007), I picked Mayweather to win a slightly closer than expected decision over 12 riveting and aesthetically pleasing rounds. Five years later, I see no reason to change that pick.

Cotto hangs tough with Mayweather early, and has some impressive moments in the contest throughout the fight. But after being rocked, Mayweather starts to find his groove with the right hand and either opens up a cut or stuns Cotto badly enough to put him on his bike. Cotto boxes well enough to make to the finish, and maybe even to steal a round....But not well enough to keep PBF from gaining a clear UD by scores of say, 115-113, 116-113, 116-112.

I think this fight will be a lot of fun to watch, regardless of what happens. Personally, I can't wait. :good

    :blood

    Not sure if serious...

I think Cotto has got himself back in the swing and is undervalued at junior middle (the clear #1 at the weight IMO, in fact...) but his best was a while ago. Same for Mayweather, but he is more the type to retain his best qualities enough to still be highly effective well past his actual best.

I dont believe floyd stops cotto, floyd isnt a big puncher and its not his style anyway.
He will play it safe and cruise to a ud, allthough I hope cotto stops him, would be great for miguel.

It's the experience and weight classes they are in. One thing I'm certain of is that they are both at good places in their careers.. This isn't 2006 when Cotto is on his way out of the 140lb division, and he is finally learning how to fight going backwards.

Mayweather is better than ever in my eyes.. He may be in his 30s, but still as dominant as he's always been in that ring, and that experience is showing up more than ever in these fights.. Being able to survive against Mosley and keeping his cool against Ortiz who rushed in head first throughout the fight.

In 2012, this matchup will be more competitive than ever.

Cotto may not be at his peak, but he's fighting a lot smarter than he used to, IB. He's making better use of an already effective jab, and seems to be more capable of picking his spots. So, while he's not at his best physically, I'd say this version of MAC might be more difficult than the one that Pac eviscerated back in 2009.

As stated before, I still think Mayweather wins. I just don't think Cotto's gonna be "Gatti'd" in this fight (or even Baldomired, for that matter)

I am ducking this question about as much as Mayweather is ducking the best at 154. :D

Mayweather by piled-on Smoger-doing-jumping-jacks TKO with Cotto on his feet but resembling a pulpy smashed melon. Or Mayweather by way of a very crisp right hand counter that drops Cotto, who gets up before ten but doesn't convince the ref he is clear to go on. Or Mayweather opens a cut. Or Cotto makes it far enough to lose on points. Those are the most possible scenarios in descending order IMO.

Credit to Floyd? Some just for the win, but not a whole lot. It is all about HOW. Domination & stoppage? Major props.
