We can theorise forevermore. But thats all it will be because cortez robbed us of finding out outside of probability.

Hatton was getting inside with his footspeed. Tbh i agree mayweather seemed equally in strong inside....but we didnt get to find that out till after mayweather softened him up. Hatton was an on top fighter. He thrived off his own success and could lose his way when his success was frustrated.

I think we all agree mayweathers the better fighter. I agree with hatton tho cortez stopped it from playing out....we,re left with high probability. We shouldnt have been left with that. Waste of time having hatton fighting mayweather without allowing hatton to fight the only real possible way to win he had.

Horrible refeerering from a guy that let hopkins v calzaghe fight it out all night.

It doesnt change the result. You might be right in that it might have been over quicker if he allowed it. We should still have been able to find out outside of high probability tho.

I agree with you that it would've made for a more entertaining fight from start to finish. I just think that Hatton's footspeed served the purpose of closing distance and making Floyd uncomfortable off of the backfoot, but not much else.

I think that Ricky did well early on. The problem, IMO, was that he was unable to smother Floyd when he did get close because Floyd knew how to position his body to keep his hands free. While Ricky was expending energy, Floyd was angling his body and resting, biding his time, and systematically breaking Hatton down.

I think that Ricky was dead tired by the end of it. It's hard to keep that sort of frenetic pace against someone who isn't really expending anything.

There is a lot of delusion in this thread.

Hatton fought every fight at 140lbs before he fought Collazo at 147lbs where he looked dog**** against a C+ fighter . Hatton then moved straight back down to 140lbs.

It was only then when Floyd dictated the fight be at 147lbs, Hatton not wanting to miss a big pay day took it.

If this is isn’t obvious cherrypicking then I’ve got a fat off bridge I can sell you. We have so many fanboys suck Floyd off for this fight, including in this thread, despite the blatant cherrypicking. What made it worse was that ref was trying his best to protect Floyd.

I’m not saying Hatton would beat Floyd at 140lbs, I’m saying Floyd tried to reduce the risks Hatton posed ..which is not what “the best ever” would do

Floyd would tear Hatton to pieces. No chance, none.
