What a horrific fight that was. I scored the fight big for Molina, 10-2 rounds, 118-110 points, giving Smith only rounds 3 and 11. The closest I could give another round to Smith was Round 10, when he won the first half, but Molina won the second half more cleanly. There were ZERO effective punches from either fighter this fight. Molina got over on his aggression, workrate, and ring generalship. I also give him props for being able to succeed when referee Nady was mostly looking to warn Molina, and waited until the 11th to warn Smith about all his ducking. Smith fought a horrible fight, only in the 10th and 11th was he using his height and reach advantage to work effectively behind his jab; otherwise, he was fighting backwards, ducking and holding, and lunging with the occasional wild counterpunch attempts. Smith has zero power and a low workrate, so there are only a few ways he can win a fight, and he seemed to be going for the DQ tonight more than anything else. Fair play to Nady I guess, he was looking too much at Molina instead of Smith, but I shudder to think how awful the fight would have been if both were left to their own devices. Well done the two judges who had the fight for Molina, but Adelaide Byrd needs to be brought in for review, and then suspended, her card was unprofessional!!!
